Comments That Make Your Day

So my latest story has the most bonkers rating/comment/views ratio that I've ever had:LOL:

Congrats on the response to your story. That is amazing. I will have to add it to my list. I was just starting to read through yours.

But the comment that absolutely melted me while I was checking my phone on my lunch break at work was anonymous 😭
I agree with this particular Anonymous wholeheartedly. The subject matter you write on is pretty unique but your approach to telling your stories is lovely for how thoughtful and inclusive it is. Certainly could use more authors like you here on Lit (don't worry, if we were somehow blessed with more you'd still be my favorite ;)).

But the comments definitely made my day! One of the nicest kinds of comments I think I can receive on a smut story are of the "I'm not into X, but..." genre, and I got a number of them

Praise well deserved, and also suggestive that once you've been lured into the Mothman trap, it's hard to get away without commenting... The score isn't too shabby either.

I just got this one on my latest story:

Wonderful story, I truly enjoyed how you tied in other stories with some being "real" and another being "fiction" written by one of the MC's.

The MMC is a literotica author and they have a running joke about one of "his" stories (actually a recent one of mine). At the same time, there are allusions to a couple of other stories as current events to them. I loved that someone recognized the references. Someone who actually reads my stories 😊

I hate to post two of these in a row, but I just got such a nice one, it truly changed my mood. (Thanks @Nynah)

It is from my Nude Day entry The Important Days. I am still very emotionally attached to all three primary characters in the story, so comments like this hit me.

I'm weak for a sexually-confident woman helping an inexperienced partner through the in and outs (ha) of sex, so this definitely scratched that particular itch. I also have to echo the previous commenters regarding the desire for their own personal Ellies, she was quite the alluring instructor. 🥵

At first I did think the relationship between Jason and his mother strained the boundaries of credulity, but I realized that was my own personal biases at play and I was able to detach that and appreciate the narrative you were telling. If all our mothers were as understanding about sex and friendship, a lot of this current generation would likely be less traumatized.

Your portrayal of how people handle each other after not being in each other's lives was particularly poignant and real; I've been in similar situations and the tensions can be palpable but they can also be oddly prosaic and you managed to capture that particularly well.

I'm also glad that the story came back around to Ellie, count me as another reader who wouldn't mind seeing how their relationship after all these years redevelops.

Thank you for sharing this, it was lovely!

Well, this one just made my day.

Over the last six years of comments, nearly all that can be said was said. This was a terrific story brilliantly done. To make a single act of intercourse (after the attack) literarily last longer than the probable duration of the actual event, all the while building, pounding to a thunderous, drum thumping, screaming, spasming conclusion is a feat in itself. When then story ended, I needed a nap and a cigarette. (A metaphorical cigarette, I don’t smoke.) Brilliantly done.

Which story, Chloe?

This is the picture I try to paint, like they can imagine watching it happen. From 'Date with Mom'.

"WOW! What a great story. Your way with words is incredible. Felt like it was not only real, but that I was watching it on a video! Please continue with this story."

"I saw you mention its your 15th year on lit. Time flies my friend, I remember reading your first story Almost Perfect like it was last week. You don't post many stories these days but they are so worth the wait when you do. LC all these years and you're still one of the best in the game. Thank you for all the enjoyment you've brought us here."

I was rather chuffed to get this on one of my earliest stories, Tell Me What You Want: I’m not sure which is better, the story or the author’s riff in comments. 5/5.

The first comment on this story was the only one I got on the whole site for nearly 3 years, which inaccurately insulted the story and then insulted kumquats. I replied, to defend the noble kumquat species!

99% of the comments for Ides of March have been positive, and it was difficult to pick just one, but this one really got my attention. I love it when something hits exactly what I was going for. Wait until the sequel drops next week.

I'm 67 M..... I LOVE THIS STORY !!!!!! You made me feel what she was feeling. Great job !!

Couple of nice comments for CANADA DAY:

Irredeemable
Hmmm…. Is “Bruce” synonymous with “asshole”? Must be…. Hell is too nice a place for him!

Heredity
Wonderful short story. I have a song from Rocky Horror Picture Show running rampant in my addled brain…. I got it! “Let’s do the time warp again…”. Or was that time loop again, and again, and again…
5+++++ stars!

A wonderful comment by Anonymous to end the first half of the year:

Crazy Camping Neighbor:

I simply adored this story. The way you describe the lightheartedness, childlike fun, and intimacy of simple acts made me feel as happy as they felt. And like another commenter said I almost felt the wind on my face when they rode the bike. The way he tried to understand her beyond the label of weird or broken is something I wish we all could have. Brilliantly written, I hope you continue writing. Well done.

Inexplicably, Mothman is Real, He's My Boyfriend is currently my highest rated story ever at 4.9, and @Djmac1031 left me a wonderful comment on it:

Been meaning to get to this, glad I did.
Fun, creative, imaginative, clever, oddly sweet and even more oddly sexy 😆.
Truly enjoy your writing, great job.

"Oddly sweet, even more oddly sexy" may need to be added to the top of my profile

This lovely insight by @THBGato into A Melody of Surrender, a slow burn D/s romance that I knew would stretch the lesbian sex category a little. It's amazing when someone just gets the essence of why you wrote the story. To be honest it nearly had me in tears.
There were parts that made me feel uncomfortable, but so what. We all need to dance down the edge at times, push out of our comfort zone. Thus, we learn and grow. We fear what we do not understand, but here I think you helped those that will really read carefully to understand that there is nothing to fear. Plus, like Tessa, I think there will be some readers out there shedding tears of joy to know that others get it, understand them, see them. What a gift you have given in this story. It wasn't a gift for me, but God was it beautiful watching it being unwrapped. x
I also just found out about this beautiful essay/review that @DawnDuckie wrote - 'Why to Read "A Melody of Surrender" (even if you don't like D/s stories)'. It's so sincere and lovely it got my insides all mushy and warm.:heart:

I've been very lucky to work on a couple of stories with @PennyThompson lately. "What the Maid Saw And Did" for the LitCon event includes her characters Scout and Jeremy interacting with a new character, Hiraya, from me, and a lot of the fun of the writing process was trying to work out the interactions between them. So Anon's comment just in really hits the spot.

My god - Hiraya is amazing, I love how her upbringing reflects her thoughts which in turn reflects how this story's descriptions are written. When I compare it to Accessibility Compliance and how the descriptions are felt through Scout's voice - I love the contrast!
What a beautiful surprise it was to see Jeremy and Scout as well! The feeling of reading it, and thinking "Woah, these names are familiar?", and then realising who they were was so amazing! Ah, the way that Scout almost says things, and you can imagine filling in the gaps - wonderful!
I was smiling with basically every interaction between Hiraya and any other notable character. Especially this last scene where she hugs them hard! Amazing, amazing, amazing. Keep it up.

Thanks Anon!
