Thanks guys. I don't expect my leaving will have a huge affect on anyone. I didn't post all that often anyway, compared to some of the others around here. I do still do beta reading for anyone who asks and am always willing to give my opinon on stories or help however I can.

DANIELLEKITTEN, why let a bunch of idiots drive you away? I had some nasty postings on a thread I posted on for ages, I waited them out and eventually, my friends and colleagues there drove THEM away.

I haven't done a lot of reviews, although with my time changing again, I may begin to do so. But NO ONE will push me away from the things I love.

As for my writing - I too, get enough positive feedback and fan mail [ I still get at least 1 or 2 a month ] to know that my writing is enjoyed by some. It is important to me, it is important to them and that is what counts. The flamers - well, perhaps one day when they move out of Mommy's basement ...

Mostly because I don't need the added extra stress right now. So, the easiest thing for me to do is stop. I will still post if it's something I want to do, or do a review if I see something that really strikes me, but I'm just not up to being tough and letting the nasties bounce off of me anymore.

I'm here to write, to get experience and to get published. I'm not here to be called a cheater, or a bitch and those were the nice names they called me. I'm also not here to be made to feel invisible or ignored. I've made friends here, I contact them through emails. The haters and flamers...well, they have to live with their own karma.

But thanks for the thought BrettJ. Maybe when my health is better, I'll be back.

And thanks to the rest of you for the wonderful thoughts and well wishes. I'm still lurking in the background, content to write my scribbles and read your work and vote on it. Take care.

DANIELLEKITTEN, sorry you haven't been well. Neither have I, which is partly why my output dropped so much in 2006.

As for getting published - I've read your stuff - I think you're better than me [ although another writer tells me his wife LOVES my stuff and I think he's good, so maybe we're hardest on ourselves? ] and I am published. The pay is crap, but there's a nifty thrill in seeing my name in print. 40+ stories already.

I may have had a "flamer" myself, as one of my Red H's vanished recently. I checked into it and sent a message and it was back shortly thereafter.

I never mind a review that says "I didn't like it and here's why ... " but the ones that just say "Crap" or what-have-you -- that is not a proper review.

For example, our local restaurant critic is a moron. He reviews the food and who he "schmoozed" with as far as the owner / staff go, but that is about it. How about the location? Quality? Portion Size? Service? A good review should take into account many elements.

When / if you come back, you'll be welcome with open arms [ and around here, that is a mild welcome ]

I don't think dead is quite enough punishment for Aaron... and it certainly won't be before all is said and done.
