Comments/Suggestions on the New Story Review Thread

Thanks Severusmax

Thank you for the kind review of In Memory of Carly Ch.02.
Hopefully I will not disappoint in the upcoming chapters. ;)

Sorry about recently not being able to do reviews on Wednesday. May have to switch days at this rate and drop Wednesday altogether. As it is, I've been able to help Amasterfound with her day and not been able to do my own. I hate to do this, since I'm one of the last original ones, but it's just getting to be more hectic on Wednesday than it used to be. Especially with so much stuff going on at home right at the moment.

You're welcome. I look forward to it. I would love to see a permanent change in her character for the better.

Too Good for Lit?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A token early review, in case I don't get time later when more stories are posted:

Shelter From the Storm ch 19 by Sweet Witch in Romance might indeed be too well written for Lit. It is very much literary, not, in my only criticism, erotic. I reviewed an earlier chapter, and passed by the modest sexual content as a warm up for later fun, but by ch 19, the overwhelming narrative is unrewarding. Perhaps long chunks, to reward the faithful? Also, I'm not a romance reader by nature, but this seems more of an adventure story than the typical hearts and flowers love found/lost/found anew sort. Publishable quality writing, but I'll be curious , if SW wants to let us know in the comments thread , whether it can find the right audience here.

Sirhugs,

Too Good for Lit?

Hmm, not sure how to respond to that, except to say that there are many truly wonderful works on this site that are of the highest quality. I don’t presume to rank my story among them. What many of the writers of Literotica produce can only be described as amazing.

“…but I'll be curious , if SW wants to let us know in the comments thread, whether it can find the right audience here.”

That one I can answer. Judging by the thousands of reads and hundreds votes I’ve received, I would have to say, “yes”. My inbox has been flooded with emails, all positive and all glowing with the virtues of my story. The PC comments have been nothing short of flattering.

It’s more literary in style, yes, with little “insert tab A into slot B” sex, but eroticism isn’t always about two people having physical orgasms. The most important sex organ in the human body is the brain. Without stimulating the brain, sex is merely body fluids and squishy, slappy noises.

I don’t like to write formulaic tales. I don’t want the reader to say, “That was good. Now, what else can I read?” I want my readers to remember my stories and think about them after they are done reading.

I write with my own adventurous needs and the reader’s desire for blessed escape from reality in mind. No, the story is not pure romance. No, it is not pure sexual gratification. What I hope I’m doing is giving a treat to the reader, a complete road trip of adventure, fun, emotion and romantic satisfaction. All these elements, to me at least, make for an erotic experience that leaves the reader both satisfied and wanting more.

Thank you for your words and your time, Sirhugs. I am most flattered by what you wrote.

Too Good for Lit?

A wonderful story by Sweetwitch and a wonderful response to the question, "can it find the right audience here?". It can and it has..Well done Sweetwitch.

Thanks! :D

Thank you so very much janiexx for the kind review. :) I appreciate you taking the time to read and enjoy the story, sorry if it ended short for you. The focus was to be on the ladies really and to move deeper into the conflicts afterwards would have deflected from it. I am very glad you like it enough to mention it in the reviews.

Thanks again,
~ Red. :) :rose:

You're welcome.

The writing was so good, that I wanted to read on! But I understand what you wanted to achieve and you definitely succeeded with that.

janiexx:)

Thank you janiexx!

Hi janiexx, thank you so much for your comments, it's... how can I say... just amazing I guess to receive that kind of feedback. I don't think I ever received such beautiful compliments...

You know, I actually have a regret about the "cock size" thing, it does seem out of place there. I believe it was something I wanted to expand (i.e. provide more descriptions on the male character) but as you can see I aborted it right away: it was breaking the "flow". I'll see if I can re-edit that...

Beside that, well, writing in English is a tough job for me, since Italian is my native language, not English. But I must say I found a wonderful editor called "c.whyte" that provided tremendous help editing this story. I wish to publicly extend my sincere thanks to c.whyte, I feel I owe him/her a lot.

I have decided to drop Wednesday and simply share Sunday with AMF. There's simply no way I can count on doing Wednesday regularly of late, so that's for the best. On the other hand, I seem to be able to do Sunday with relative ease. Anyone who fancies Wednesday can have it.

yikes! no reviews in three or four days.....did I say "yikes"????

I loved doing the reviews, I looked forward to my day doing them. I know I stopped suddenly, but when every one of my stories started taking beatings and I started getting emails calling me names that I hate to have even my characters utter, I decided enough was enough. That was also when I dropped off from posting here on the Author's Hangout. As soon as I did that, the emails stopped and so did the one bombs, mostly. I don't know who it is and I wouldn't point fingers if I did.

This site meant a lot to me at one time, mostly because I was enjoying the companionship of the people here, the help with my writing, which is one of the most important things in my life, and the feeling of family. Most of you who have been slapped in the face know how it feels to be betrayed and that's what I feel. I've never been anything but nice, even to those who have stabbed me or accused me without ever accusing me.

Well, I didn't mean to spew my rant on you, but that is why you will not see me post reviews anymore. I'm sorry I didn't say so earlier, but I was tired of the hate and tired of the bitching and nasty people. Good luck to you all, and thank you to those who have been my friends, no matter what others say about me.

Danielle

*HUGS* Danielle. I didn't know that. :(

I can't imagine why someone from here would act that way.

I'll miss you. Take care.

:: Hugs Danielle :: Have to do what you have to do when something like this comes up. Just know that you're always missed :rose:

the "others" are the ones we don't need here...It is tragic we lose you, who we so desire and respect , because of them....

Thanks guys. I don't expect my leaving will have a huge affect on anyone. I didn't post all that often anyway, compared to some of the others around here. I do still do beta reading for anyone who asks and am always willing to give my opinon on stories or help however I can.

Just remember, I'm always on the other end of an email.

Take care all,

Dani

Danielle,

You know I admire you as a person and a writer. I am sorry that you have been a victim to malicious attacks by people who don't the woman behind the computer screen. *hugs* :rose:

I wish you all the luck in the world and I really believe you will accomplish great things, especially with your writing.
