For my story published today, "Insomnia", my "Works Activity" control panel says:

Commented story

You have commented on a story
Insomnia

Commented story

ElectricBlue
has commented on your story
Insomnia

Commented story

THBGato
has commented on your story
Insomnia

However, only THBGato's comment is visible, neither mine nor ElectricBlue's. Is there a delay of longer than 2 hours for a comment to register on the control panel, but not on Literotica itself?

EDIT: I tried opening the story in a different browser, which has never visited Literotica before. That browser shows NO comments! How? Why? @Manu?

Thanks.

Commented on story Slowly, Then All at Once by WCSGarland. I saw the comment yesterday, and in my control panel 15 comments on that story are indicated. Cannot see any comments today on the story. Using safari on ipad. Same Firefox on PC.

Tried accessing from story and also sorting by newest first. Still seeing none.

Lgged out and cleared all history. Cannot even see the story after an author search. The 4 other stories are there.

Did you try @Nightscream89's trick of sorting by Newest?

There is a problem with comments. My latest https://www.literotica.com/s/jingles-02 shows up only six comments, though my control panel shows 12. If I go in via the control panel, I can see and reply to all the comments and have done so. But it does mean that commentators are not seeing their comments or my replies. It has happened before. Anyone have any idea why?

Trying Nightscreams trick works for me, but not sure it does for readers.

Could @Manu help?

If I look at your story I see 12 comments
If I click on comments I see 4 comments
If I sort by newest I see 2 comments

Something is definately weird with the comment system.

OK, for Insomnia again: my control panel shows 21 votes, but for some reason it has no star score on the New Stories list, as of 5 minutes before posting this. In fact, no story does. I seem to remember that New Stories used to show ratings.

I hate to bug you, but: @Manu?

Getting the same as you - but when I click on "newest' all 23 comments show. But there is no rating next to it,

What I find is the only way to see story comments is if you commented on one, to click on that story link and then it takes you to the story and you see the actual # of comments. I've tried accessing through Story Hub or just going straight to the category and finding the story, but those options do not work.

Edit: Just tried comments under "today" and I can see the current comments made--which means comments are not being updated (showing) to the story directly.

What I'm finding is the comments are generally hit or miss as far as if they are displaying on the story whether you commented on them or not. I'm generally used to seeing is comments will begin to populate or at least the number in the activity field around 3pm CST in the US. With the comments themselves readable usually an hour to two hours later. It seems since last week though that the comments have been lagging way farther behind

I think the issue is site-wide. Who is the person to contact to report the issue? It's been over a week and the comment sections on stories still aren't working as they should be.

What I'm finding is that comments in every general category I checked are getting updated now every 2-3 days (no way to tell if there's a particular order transpiring) so must be a mess straightening out the coding.

My experience is that at the end of the last page of every story it shows "0 Comments" but if I click the comments icon to take me directly to the comments page for that story, I can see comments (but I have no idea if it is all the comments as it is usually 5 or less which seems odd... especially for Loving Wives).

I was coming here to report this. It seems to be some kind of caching / timing issue. Whenever you view comments, your view becomes frozen for several days. If you change the view (click to sort by newer) you refresh that view, so you get an updated view, but then that becomes frozen, too. I've tried deleting site cookies in case there's a cookie that controls the cache, but that doesn't help.

Last week I published a story and was notified of two comments (THBGato again, maybe I've identified a common factor :)) but comments showed 0. Switching to new showed 2, which was correct at the time. I got a notification of a followup from THBGato, but it wasn't visible in either sort method. I finally realized that if I go to works/stories and click on the comment link on the story it's always current, so I could read all comments that came in, but the normal link was frozen at 2. A few days later I got an email from another user telling me their comment wasn't posting and sending me feedback, but in fact theirs was one of the two comments I could see, even in the frozen list.

Yesterday I went back to the normal comment link and all comments were visible. I'd be willing to bet that the cache was cleared and re-froze when I visited the link.

The issue isn't comment moderation, because the comments are visible in the link from works, but I think each other comment link only works on the first access, and then not again for several days.

Yes, very frustrating for writers wanting to view and respond to feedback on their work! It's been a good few weeks now, and nothing seems to have been acknowledged or done about it.

Another writer very kindly tagged the person who deals with the tech side of the site, so hopefully they are aware of the issue!

Between last week and this, the problem seems to have been resolved for me. Every comment on my latest story has been available as soon as I received a notification. No need to change views or use an alternative link.
