I need to give other beaches a shot. The only ones I have been to are NC/SC ones (excluding the Outer Banks, which is really a shame).

no no...I said Garden City...not carden STate...Garden City is a tiny smaller town south of Myrtle Beach taht's like the barrier idlans of SC more than the tourist trap that's to the north...

Other beaches in other parts of the country can be nice, but it really depends on where you go. Having lived on the Cape, we have some good beaches, but I never feel like going anymore during the summer because they're all so crowded that it feels more like a hassle to go than fun and relaxing. The best time to go to a beach, in my opinion, not for swimming, but for just enjoying the beach, in mid-spring or mid-fall when the tourists aren't around yet, and you can just lie on the beach and enjoy the sounds.
