Looks like leather, studs and a bit of chain on the back for adjustment.
It is small but I would consider it to be a basic collar.
It's too small to use for locking things to it but all collars don't need to be that heavy.
Personally, I prefer heavy leather for collars. I have collars and cuffs custom made by a small business that makes saddles, horse harnesses and cowboy boots. They DO NOT break.

Having had many collars, and also many choker necklaces, I want my collars to be the same material all the way around. That's what 'pings' for me. A "kitten collar" is just fine-- even though, as Micklesko says, they aren't strong enough to lock much of anything onto.

But the most important aspect to me, the thing that makes something a collar-- is that only one person can take it off. Even if it's myself for my self.

The person I consider my last submissive* had a collar that was a simple, relatively thin gold chain with a itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny little lock charm on it that didn't lock the chain. It was just a charm... but I held the key for it. I put the chain around her neck and clasped the (normal) clasp, and she wouldn't take it off for *any*thing - shower, whatever. Only I could take it off. Does that count? It wouldn't have held anything more than perhaps a couple of ounces of weight, but we considered it her collar. (Of course, we also had a much heavier leather collar with D-rings for leash, weights, etc., but that's a different matter. This was her everyday, everywhere {except if she was going in for x-rays!} collar.)

* - Last submissive because I quit trying to think of myself as Dominant and accepted that my major sexual identity is Sadist.

Yeah, in my head it counts, anyway!

I think I'm going to take pics of my collar-- (the one I have left, anyways. I stuuuuupidly tossed my very first collar, that I had worn off and on for fifteen years gogdammit-- about fifteen years ago now. And I've always regretted doing that.)

Day wear collars, and I guess it did not show well, there is a ring on the end for locking. Same for this one. I do not have the material I need for Larger heavier collars.

I like that! The center ring, for sure.

This maybe the sexiest thing...

I have ever read.

Okay, so this is the chain that I hardly ever take off. It could def. be a collar;

The braided knot that I tied into it makes it even more subtly collarish, I think ;)

And I could run a hasp through the last loops and lock that sucker on.

This is my REAL collar, which I hardly ever wear, but sometimes it comes out.

Check out the kind of awesome way that it locks on;

This is a pipebead choker, and it is NOT a collar. it was a trophy from a blackpowder competition, in fact not that I could win any trophies nowadays-

But people tend to think it is, which is irritating. :D
It ties together in back. But lit only allows five pics in a post so Ihaven't uploaded that one...

LOVE THEM STELLA!!! I prefer to have the ring or lead in the back of the collar, not sure why.

Collars are unique to every person, I have one that I bought years ago, never wore, it has a locking style similar to your REAL collar, Stella. Never got a chance to wear it. It's locked up in storage along with lots of other stuff.

I tend to find chokers sexy. If a woman wears the right one, the one that fits not only her neck but also her personality, I just can't help but stare. A strong, independent woman wearing a choker, even and elegant tiny gold one, <Sir Winston> to me looks submissive and delicious.

I made a pair of earrings with "rings" on them, just decorative, but matches the last one. I had to get my boyfriend to undo the lock on the last one, I couldn't do it. He fumbled his drink when he say it. :D

That is hot, you made it?

hee! Well it sure is nice to have a chance to show them off!

Take pictures of collars, folks! I wanna see more!

This is mine. Imagine the fizzy, protruding hair gone and the colors less yellow.

It doesn't lock or anything, but I don't take it off, unless it gets stuck in my hair or there's a formal event of sorts where I have to dress up nicely and it doesn't go well with my clothes.

It's lost a lot of its symbolism for us - wearing it doesn't make me any more or less his or our relationship any more or less D/s - so I wear it out of a habit more than anything else. Sometimes it jingles a bit when it moves. Normally I don't pay any attention to it anymore, but at times the little sound somehow pierces everything around me and hearing it makes me smile and remember the excitement of the early days of wearing it. I like that a lot.
