Powell Outlines Iraq UAV Efforts

U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell disclosed Iraqi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programs as part of his major presentation to the United Nations, efforts which he said serve as evidence that UN inspections have failed to uncover Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.

Powell’s allegations are key to the Bush administration’s case that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein poses potential danger to theUSA and Iraq’s neighbors, including Israel. In outlining Iraq’s UAV efforts, Powell discussed previously known programs to covert Russian-made MiG-21 fighters and Czech-made L-29 light trainers into drones able to spray biological weapons. But he alleges that Iraq is now concentrating on developing and testing a small, home-grown Iraqi UAV, which resembling IAI/Malat’s Searcher.

"Iraq has been working on a variety of UAVs for more than a decade...There is ample evidence that Iraq has dedicated much effort to developing and testing spray devices that could be adapted to UAVs. And of the little that Saddam Hussein told us about UAVs, he has not told the truth," stated Powell.

He said Iraq’s lies are "graphically and indisputably demonstrated" by U.S. intelligence. Powell said Iraq has declared that its UAVs have a range of only 80km, "but we detected one of Iraq’s newest UAVs in a test flight that went 500km nonstop on autopilot."

Added Powell: "The linkages over the past ten years between Iraq’s UAV program and biological and chemical warfare agents are of deep concern to us. Iraq could use these small UAVs, which have a wingspan of only a few meters, to deliver biological agents to its neighbors, or if transported, to other countries, including the United States."

pp, if you are referring to Powell and his presentation to the UN, he did. I watched it.

Could someone show the link between Prez Bush and the duct tape industry?

It ain't going to happen... in the air...

via some spray device.

Think about it...

Everyone's watchin' here in the US.

They - the bad guys - whatever they have, whatever - it's hard to move, it's hard to get into position, it all takes very much time and planning - hey - it's fucking expensive!!!

They don't want to waste it.

It won't be air born - outside - subject to the 'my god' weather.

So? Where will it be?

Think you self-proclaimed smart asses.... think...
