Hiya, all! I was just wondering, having seen a great deal in the way of cock rings out there, and hearing from some people that they are great things, do they really help with hardness and control? Any suggestions about which ones are best?

I bought an oriental love ring from the literotica store not so long ago.
My gf was finding sex a little sore so I bought some lube to make things more comfortable. But obviously with the lube its quite hard to last for long 'cos its so damn slippery!
So, I decided to buy the ring to try and counteract the effect of the lube.
The ring does create a 100% full erection and therefore makes it as big as its ever gonna get. But I didn't find it stopped me from cumming and was a bastard to take off.
So for novelty purposes - seeing how big your dick can really get - its fun. But it aint too practical. Oh and you look ridiculous too!!

Hi, Fox. I've had some experience with rings and can tell you that first and foremost, a good fit is essential. It should fit snugly at the base WHEN ERECT. Both penis and testicles should be pulled through the ring before erection occurs and you should wait 'till you're limp again before attempting to remove the ring, else as Flagg points out, ya got troubles.

Today you can buy adjustable rings, but I prefer the cool metal variety. Personal preference. Try both and make up your own mind.

The REAL benefit to a well-fitting ring is that is can prolong erection by compressing the veins that allow blood to recede from the penis. This is a self-correcting action as eventually the erection will be lost, relieving the compression and allowing complete deflation.

Which is why fit is important. If too tight, too much compression may prevent a full erection. If too loose, compression doesn't occur and you've just got a ring dangling loose.

There is another benefit that I appreciate. The scrotum is lifted and pushed forward, putting it in closer contact with my partner's flesh ... producing very neat feelings.

Whispersecret, I dunno if there's any rule book that says you're "supposed" to do it any particular way. That's just the way I first did it. I think the reason was that just putting it on my shaft alone let it slide forward too easily -- nothing like a big hunk of metal bouncing around on your cock, y'know. Since most penises are tapered somewhat from back to front, I think most guys would find that happening, too.

Once having done it that way, and loved it (and so did my lady)!!! that just became the standard, so to speak.

I've never used one of the plastic things with the proturbance meant to simultaneously pleasure the female, and it may work differently. Anyone know?

The one I have is made with a 1/2" nub on the top (for her clit). Then little extensions around the dick. It also has a longer, but not much, nub on the bottom. She SEEMS to like it. I hope I was some help. Let me know if you need more info. I got alot of rings & things!!!

Thanks GR81. Never having used one of those I'm a little curious. With the metal ring, I had to be a little careful not to press it too hard into my lady, who had a prominent mound anyway. Too much pressure and we both were sore for days. With the kind you describe, do you have to be as careful? Do you have to vary the pressure? Adjust where the nub fits? You should write a paragraph or two on how it works. Or maybe even a story to post on the stories section.

Various Rings

I bought a few rings, but haven't had much of a chance to try them on my man.

Is there anything I should know about these kinds:

Bolo:
Seems pretty obvious, around shaft and sac and cinche. Just like a good saddle. I hear you can twist it between shaft and sac t create a figure 8 too. (The hair-tie trick.)

Metal:
This one scares me a bit. Mostly because you never know what size to get. It also doesn't unhinge or fasten, so I guess you just wait for total deflation? Would hate to run to the ER for that! Visions of a blow torch give me nightmares.

Leather:
Does leather need something, oil or whatever, to prevent chafing? I like the idea that it has snaps and totally adjustable.
