Some asshole troll is 1-bombing her stories and leaving vicious public comments. This was because apparently he took offense with her latest Essay -

The Myth of Religious Freedom

Interesting, isn't it, how an essay on the evils of intolerance brings out the bigots?

At any rate, if you haven't already, please drop by and leave a positive PC comment on this or any of her other essays that have been recently flamed by this "anonymous" poster.

I hate anonymous cowards.

Trolls are a given. I got one for my being honest about his story, WHEN he asked. Never said I did not like, just said it was genre oriented, therefore conservative and not pushing the boundry of the genre. C'est la vie ... ASSHOLES (them - not you, or Cloudy ;) )

Can I comment here, or do you want the PM. Am just about to read :D

I think public comments are more effective for shutting up asshole trolls.

I guess.

Actually, short of taking them outside and beating them senseless, there probably isn't a real way to shut them up.

But the PC's will at least piss them off. Maybe that's just as good?

:D

I would suggest tarring and feathering. Probably won't stop them, but would be fun :)

Funny, sounded an awful lot like Joe Wordsworthless.

No, I don't think so.

Joe would have argued effectively (if unceasingly annoyingly) but he would have had a solid point, even if everyone else had disagreed with him.

And he would have signed his name. He isn't a coward.

This nameless troll is just a bigoted coward.

Assholes get off on ... anger. I posted love LOL of a kind LOL

Thanks, y'all - y'all are the bestest.

I've reported the systematic bombing to Laurel, although I hate to bother her. And I did erase some of the nasty comments on stories I'm sure the ass couldn't read because I use words of more than two syllables.

Now, he's resorted to emailing them to me, without a return address, of course. Just got this on The Warrior's Song: "Road kill is more appealing than this story."

ah, bigots. Don'tcha just hate 'em?

I think despite the start of why the US was formed, there has always been more intolerance than most countries. Th US did not enter WW2 to save the Jewish folk. They entered war as they do ... for gain, and excuse. I think you raise an interesting point about the current state of the US, and the intolerance Bush articulates. I BELIEVE, the US is going down as a super power, not because y'all dont have nukes, but because no one, no country agrees with your gov'ts way, or policy. As the most hated country in the world - PULEASE I LOVE YOU GUYS, but your current government? Getting away with going against UN? CLOSING THEIR BORDERS? ON THE GUISE of freedom?

Ya. I do see what you mean, and it is NOT impossible, US or other.

I'm so glad you see that.....now I don't feel so paranoid. ;)

I knew I shouldn't have looked in here.

Sweetsubsarahh is right though.

Dranoel -I thought you were above childish name calling, it probably makes not a jot of difference to you, but seeing that has quite disappointed me.

Just a point, no one entered World War II to save the Jews. The UK knew what was going on and refused to take any steps to help them. Canada, the south American countries, the US, Uk, everyone refused to ease immigration restrictions. The Uk's Anthony Emden was a closet anti-semite and he did a lot to sabotage any effort to help them.

Just a historical point, not an argument starter.

I am just glad you all see it, because if you did not, then THAT would be scary. Great essay, love. Are you in the contest?

I know love, but when the states entered Europe, they must have known, and they were asked to join per refusal way prior. Ahh confirmation that no one knew til late, so you thow question into the concept that the german population knew?. Little known also was how Japan was a German ally. Weird, huh? They are so NOT BLOND. ;)

Added. so why when war ended did executions start in December? :) With such shoddy evidence by our standard (i say ours for reason).

I wish we could say we didn't know, but the fact is we did. Well before it became a catastrophe. Britian got their first reports of the killing centers of Sobibor, Treblinka and Belzac as early as 1940. Hungarian jewry could have been saved if only the Us or UK would have taken the simple expedient of bombing the single guage railway on which the trains had to move towards Aushwitz.

We knew, at least our politicians did. Articles began to appear in major papers as early at 1943 declaring Hitler had murdered over three million jews. Did the German people know? Perhaps not. They at least have plausible deniability, living in a country where all news was tightly controlled. We, on the other hand, have nothing to shield us from our knowledge, save the scale being so incredible it was simply unbelieveable.

Churchill knew, Roosevelt, Stalin. Their cabnets knew. Their advisors. In the case of the Brits, as far down as colonial governors knew.

It's the saddest chapter in human history. made sadder by the factthe allies knew and for political reasons, took no action. :(

Now take the US now into the 21st century. 9/11 for example. Think they did not know? With the CIA paranoia? It does appear something is becoming sadder there - no? Do you question? 9/11? WHAT IF, the US NEEDED THAT? Just a question. :) (angel)

I've studied World War II. An amazing amount of information was there that the Japanese were going to attack pearl Harbor. In retrospect it's obvious, but without the benefit of hindsight, the information is not the same. I do not think anyone knew 9/11 was coming. There was ample information there, in hindsight, to know. But like pearl harbor, it was spread out, hiden in thousands of bits of other information.

EDIT I KNOW YOU DO NOT GET IT LOL: I talk in conversation style sorry: CLEARING:

Japan was obvious, they were in WW2 earlier than the history books say. DO You think with all the CIA AND FBI back handed and secret mission that your governement did not suppose 9/11 from 1960? Government SUCKS - an aside Having worked in Government for five years enough ... oh they know, and we are the sad sacs and pansies who believe them, like the germans did in the 30's and 40s. WE ARE IDIOTS who believe our governments blindly. WHO ARE THEY. I WILL TELL YOU having worked with them all. A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES out for themselves and their friends, like any business. OH, the US KNEW, COLLY, they pride themselve on knowing, but it is a hard pill to take ... that sometimes things MUST HAPPEN to get what you need and want - like life - like government, and who makes government? PEOPLE ... 9/11 was needed ... and that is my take. :D

Being a natural sceptic, I don't take much at face value. From my government or from those who dislike my government. I have a copy of the 9/11 commisions report. I've read all the consipracy thories. In all my research, I find myself right back where I was with post Pearl Harbor investigations. If you want to believe it was allowed to happen, you can. But you can't support that position without making a conjectural leap of faith.

If I refuse to take conjectural leaps as proof, then I am standing right back where I started. With a lot of information that any monday morning quarterback can piece together, but without any clear indication anyone is a position to stop it had all the information, much less the time and imagination to put it all into a cogent picture that predicted the attack.
