Besides... people who want abortions will have abortions. Rowe vs. Wade established that, and all I'm saying is why can't we use THOSE stem cells? I'm not asking for farming of fetuses or anything
Wait. Why can't that happen? Why can't we just draw the line to say that humanity begins when the being is capable of self-sufficiency for food and shelter and such? Let's go ahead and make that age 4 years old then, right?
No, of course we can't do that. Why then is it acceptable to draw another arbitrary line? I'm saying that we draw no arbitrary lines. We've proven that we're not nearly wise enough to do so already.
And I know you're not asking for fetus farming, but I guarantee you that such a thing will happen. It already does in a limited form with in vitro fertilization with several eggs harvested, fertilized, and implanted. It's not a long step to fetus farms - just a month or so of time for the fetus.
I believe that there has been some looking into using aborted fetuses for research. But that opens up yet another huge can of worms and I"m sure you can follow that line of thought yourself.
