Modern Beauty? I don't even know if that's the correct term.

There is Classic Beauty - I'd use Myst as an example. I'd post the pic I'm talking about but I don't want her to kickbox me into the floor. But we have all seen it as her avatar at one point. To me she's got classic beauty.

Modern Beauty would be like... Kasha. That chick is one beautiful woman but I wouldn't define it as classic. I call it modern for lack of a better term.

Which do you prefer.

You guys suck. I'll be honest and say that on a chick, I find classic beauty more appealing. I guess thats why I think Myst is so dang attractive.

On guys though, that classic handsomeness is okay, but I like modern, unconventional sexiness more of a turn on.

I honestly like both.

As far as which I like better, I can't decide. It depends on the women.

I LOVE Myst's current avatar! :)

But I definitely have to say I like Classic beauty. But it depends on the person too.

COOL!!

Mackdaddy and I have been flamed by Angel. Welll not flamed exactly....sort of....sparked.:p

A classic beauty to me is someone whose features will stay beautiful over time. I consider some women of this type are:

Audrey Hepburnhttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/audrey.hepburn/scansh/hepburna/tn_aud30_jpg.jpg
Sophia Lorenhttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/sophia.loren/scansl/loren/tn_SL-003_JPG.jpg
Leslie Caronhttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/c.jsrpages/scansc/caron/tn_562_jpg.jpg
Grace Kellyhttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/grace.kelly/scansk/kelly/tn_gr11_jpg.jpg
Genvieve Bujoldhttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/js.robo/scansb/bujold/tn_bujoldx_jpg.jpg

There are few 'modern' beauties who have reached 'classic' beauty status already but I think two would have to be Gwyneth Paltrow and Julia Ormond.

Now as for Myst and Angel....to me they are both simply beautiful.

myst is beautiful
if modern beauty is plastic tits , then i will stick to the classics any time

I defined what I meant by Modern Beauty ya moron. Try reading the thread before you respond.

It is spelled immerse. If you want to insult me, please at least have the intelligence to spell the insult properly.

depends wher you are in the world , i bet you spell arse ass as well
if it makes you feel any better then IMMERSE your head in a bucket of acid , HAPPY NOW

do you want me to point out the deliberate mistake in that one as well?

I prefer classical beauty.

(psst.. pabloback... careful with the flamewars, they'll get you in deeper than you are tall)

So is it not fair to say... "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...

I truly don't have an answer to one about the other. Not all things in life can be clearly delineated. Not everything has an either/or answer.

I appreciate beauty in all its forms. Modern or classic. In fact, I can't really say I see a particular difference in beauty through the ages. What do you consider Classic Beauty? Like tony_gam says, with movie stars from the 40's and 50's? Or is classic beauty that which was depicted by the Greeks?

Is modern beauty what we define as the "tall skinny supermodel" type or the "huge tit porn star" type or... what? Or is modern beauty what we've defined, more or less, in the past 50's years since mass communication came into its own?

To me... beauty is beauty. And what is beautiful to one isn't necessarily to another. For example - I am not in the least attracted to Cindy Crawford... - of tony's list I find Hepburn, Loren and Caron gorgeous but Kelly and Bujold merely "fairly attractive."

And I will say that I find beauty in words and attraction in something deeper than just looks. Not to say that a beautiful woman does not turn my head - or that I would be against a physical attraction only tryst - but it wouldn't last long... its what comes after that physical attraction that holds the true beauty.

i have met catherine zeta jones , she is so beautiful in real life , the camera does neither her or kirsty ally justice, was not a kirsty ally fan until i met her , but a beaut in the flesh

Angel is fucking GORGEOUS. As for beauty, well, it's a far cry for gorgeousness ;), but I think it's all in the eye of the beholder, as well. For some reason I'm attracted to men who don't find me attractive. Talk about pop psychology. Classic beauties seem to be rare, whereas every teenage girl in my eyes seems to be a modern beauty. They're all starting to look alike, too. I really believe that if you think of yourself as beautiful, then you ARE beautiful. When I see a woman who walks tall and proud, I think she looks much more lovely than a woman who stares at the ground when she walks. Beauty can be in actions, or inactions, too. Have you ever had the chance to get to know someone who is very good-looking, only to find that he/she is a jerk, or a dork? I know a guy like that, he's absolutely incredible as far as looks go, but he's obssessed with guns and the military. That's a turn off for me. Besides that, everytime he opens his mouth he says something stupid.

Well, by modern beauty, I really didn't mean plastic barbie dollish beauty. That would be an insult to Kasha, who I happen to think is beautiful.

Christ. I know what I mean, but I can't for the life of me put it into words, and I'm getting pissed off at myself.

Argh.
