Colorado: City-Owned Cemetery Bans Jesus From Gravestones Overs People Will Be “Offended”…

Sadly, there are plenty of morons on the left who would be offended.

Via Fox News:

The family of a Colorado preacher’s wife is still fuming after the director of the city-owned cemetery refused to engrave her final resting place with the name ‘Jesus’ because it might offend people. The city eventually reversed course under public pressure.

“We were in disbelief,” said Stacy Adams, the daughter-in-law of Linda Baker. “Who tries to censor Jesus from a cemetery?”

Linda Baker lost her battle with cancer last week. She was the wife of Mark Baker, the pastor of Harvest Baptist Church in Ovid.

Adams said her mother-in-law was passionate about her Christian faith and her family. Her final wish was to have her cemetery marker engraved with the ichthys, a symbol of early Christianity. She also wanted the word ‘Jesus’ written inside the fish.

“At first they told us it wouldn’t fit,” Adams told me. “But after we kept pushing them the cemetery director told us that it might offend somebody. They weren’t going to allow it.”

The family was devastated and asked the cemetery director to reconsider. He refused.

Weeks After Exchange Launch, Covered CA Still Does Not Have Directory Of Doctors Participating In Its Offerings

Buying coverage without knowing what doctors participate in it is surprisingly affordable.

Via KPCC:

A highly-touted doctor search tool on the Covered California health insurance website has so far proven to be nothing but headaches for consumers and for officials of the state run insurance marketplace, who have taken the feature offline for repairs.

During the first week of enrollment that started Oct. 1, the doctor search didn’t work at all. Top officials touted it on opening day as an important tool for consumers who want to confirm that their doctor is included in any new health plan they may buy.

Early last week, Covered California officials announced the search tool was up and running. But, within hours, those using it found a slew of problems.

“I had an ophthamologist friend listed as speaking Farsi, Russian and Spanish, and he doesn’t speak any of those languages,” says Dr. Richard Thorp, president of the California Medical Assn. The group represents about 37,000 doctors statewide.

Here only Christians would be buried in a cemetery. The Hindus are burned and the Muslims are buried in a kabrastan.

So it's so strange for me to hear of a cemetery where Jesus would be offensive.

Parsis and Zoroastrians do it best!

At first I found this hard to believe because it is one of the most offensive things I have ever heard about. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013...jesus-on-grave-marker-at-city-owned-cemetery/

And I would feel the same way about any religious symbol that might have been barred, and I would include a swastika, because that is also a religious symbol.

Parsis are Zohrastrians and such a small community that I forgot about them. I don't think their method is the best atleast not in densely populated cities. Like here you have vultures dropping off bits of cadavers on to unsuspecting people in the parks and other places around the tower of silence.

BTW, I notice you've used the Faravahar as your AV... but your name doesn't sound bawa... are you irani?

Why didn't you include this part of your article?

Sterling City Manager Joe Kiolbasa told 9news.com they would no longer censor religious references on headstones and cemetery markers. He said the cemetery manager made a mistake.

So it wasn't the city making that decision but some cemetery guy who was corrected. Must be a war on Christianity!

Oh no! You know what he'll do now?

Paste all the articles he can find of terrorist attacks where Christian victims were involved and point out how Islam has declared and is winning the war against Christians (some eye rolls will be involved). And then he'll say that you don't care coz, Bunny Slippers.

Right PeePee? I saved you the trouble by racing you to the punchline.

BTW why should j_w Jesus-killer care about the killing of Christians? :D

Perhaps you missed this part of the link:

The family then took their concerns to the Sterling city manager – but once again they were rebuffed.

“He refused to work with us,” she said. “He said he would have to take it to the city attorney. They were being difficult.”

She said city officials kept telling them that people would be offended by the name of Christ.

“We weren’t asking for a six-foot neon sign,” she said. “We did not want to put a cross on everyone’s tombstone. It’s a six-inch fish with the name ‘Jesus ‘ on it.”

So the family decided to post their plight on Facebook – and that’s when the city had a change of heart.

“We gave them fair warning,” she said. “We gave them time to do the right thing.”

Sterling City Manager Joe Kiolbasa told 9news.com they would no longer censor religious references on headstones and cemetery markers. He said the cemetery manager made a mistake.

“This gentleman thought it may have been objectionable to someone because of the Christian connotation,” Kiolbasa told the television station. “It will be allowed in the future.”

Not until the family threatened to make a public issue of this did the city relent.

why is it hard to believe?

there is a WAR ON CHRISTIANITY WORLDWIDE AND
THE US INCLUDED

Yes...there is a war on the most privileged group on the planet right now lol

The left, the most intolerant people in America.

The spiteful pieces of shit on the Right don't have much room to talk.

Here in the US of A, in public places you have to be respectful of everyone's religion, which means you need to keep your religious shit private. Christians and especially RW Christians fucking LOATHE the 1A with a fucking passion.

Unless of course 1A is being applied to THEIR religion, in many cases it's even denomination specific. Their fuckin' loons and they love "Freedom for me and those like me but fuck you, you're different and that's exactly the same as attacking me." as is clearly demonstrated by pretty much everything in this thread.
