Circumcision....discuss?

One sip of coffee, one more post to read, two sips of coffee..

As usual, an interesting thread regarding circs.

I am sure there is a lot of penis choppin' where you work.

However, I do not refer to it as "penis choppin' ". I'm funny that way. :)

A Euphemism is a Terrible thing to waste.

Lot's of medical studies out there, both for and against. One camp claims it desensitizes the penis, the other claims that not doing it breeds infection and smell.

Bottom line is, pediatricians say its a matter of personal preference - that both sides have their merits, and both perpetuate unfortunate fictions.

Damn good post.

There can be both benefits and detriments to the procedure and from what I've read, it can be about a 50-50 shot. As there are people who do develop problems with their foreskin later in life, it is often listed as a preventative medical procedure.

I've seen several done and some kids screamed and others cried for a minute and then were calm and peaceful.

My personal preference would be to have my children have the procedure performed for religious and medical reasons.

However, I think it should totally be up to each parent to decide that for their own child and shouldn't be done automatically.

As for desensitizing the Penis, I have yet to have a woman complain that I didn't come quickly enough! ;)

Automatically? By the parents? Or in general?

My son was done as well.

He has had no psychological trauma based upon his circumcision as an infant. I am sure he won't grow up to be a serial killer just because his parents made this decision for him.

He has friends who have not had it done as well as friends who have had it done. None of them are bothered either way about the difference.

By doctors in hospitals. There have been several threads on this topic done here and some listed that parents weren't given consent.

Parents have the right and responsibility to make medical decisions for their children.

I really don't understand why, in this day and age, this procedure, barring medical reasons, is still deemed necessary.

If I were a Desert Nomad living in the Dark Ages with limited opportunities to bathe, I might consider circumcision beneficial. I wonder how many women in the same situation, would consider it hygenically beneficial to have part of their labia or clitoral hood removed?

I realise female 'circumcision' is a completely different issue and is absolutely horrific. Granted the procedure is done more to desensitise than enhance cleanliness.

Still, I think all circumcision, ritualistic or not, whether for the purpose of cleanliness or keeping female chattel from straying, is simply barbaric, and out-dated.

Any benifits or drawbacks can be discussed here.

Seriously.... and viewpoints?

:)

Maybe more-so in infant's - specifiacally:- to do or not to do.

it is cruel and inhuman and totally unnecessary.

don't do it, especially not to someone you love.

Parents must sign an informed consent before a circ can be performed (at least in the U.S.)
No MD will perform the procedure without that signed piece of paper in the chart

Personally, I much prefer a circ'ed cock, especially for giving head

Yep.. and in Washington State a lot of insurance companies won't pay for it. So the drs want the money up front (usually by the 7th month of pregnancy).

I'm cut. I like it - granted I'm biased. And it's sensitive :D

I hope I have girls so I don't have to make that decision for my kids.

I thought I had read on one of these circumcision threads about parents who said they weren't asked at all.

Silly me I gave them the benefit of the doubt! ;)

What difference does it make ?

It's all about textures and the loose skin moving up and down the shaft is not as appealing to me
And regardless of hygeine, there is a difference in taste, sometimes almost metallic

I agree. I have never seen one done or assisted in doing the procedure without the proper consent.

Thanks for your input, ladies :rose:... although I'm not sure it will make any difference to me... :D

Glad Im circumsized. Uncut cocks look disgusting.

Most women feel the same way except for the ones that have to say different cuz their mans cock has a hat.

lol

Errr.... Wrong thread !

Apparently he had his dong cut when he was an adult - for medical reasons. Foreskin was too tight.
