Christmas weather in the UK

OK, so we've a day or two to wait (and others have had more or less) but so far, in Yorkshire, the weather has been spot on seasonable; another inch or so of snow each night, with glorious sun during the day.

My dogs are loving it!
 
Christmas day is expected to be cold. In the north there will be some sleet and snow showers, although many places are likely to remain dry. In southern and central parts some rain or sleet is expected to clear away to the east. It may still be cold enough for some snow to be mixed in.
So since the expected temperature is expected to peak at 1C - see (link) metcheck.com - and tonight has already had its new inch, we in Yorkshire do expect the first white Christmas in years...
