Did you ever search for gifts as a child? Ever find them? How did it leave you feeling on Christmas morning? I had this talk recently with my SO's mom, and she told me that she found her gifts one year, but then felt completely disappointed on Christmas morning, because there were no surprises.

What about you?

My best friend just called my SO's house, and asked for him. And honey told me it had something to do with Christmas gifts... and that they're now bringing his mom into the plan... I'm DYING of curiosity!! 3 people are in on this Christmas gift for me....

WHAT COULD IT BE????????

arrgh.

But please, do answer the questions above.

I had a friend that used to unwrap her gifts carefully every year ahead of time, so she always knew what she was getting. At our house, we've always had the majority of our presents as Santa gifts, and we never did find my mom's hiding spot for them.

I used to find them quite often, but I was more disappointed when my parents stopped trying to hide them, than when I found the ones they'd hidden. Bah. The looking was part of the fun!

I never did find my gifts as a child. As it turns out, my parents would never keep our gifts in the house. They'd just go and pick them up from a relative's X-mas Eve. So much wasted searching time.

Never. The only toys I ever found were ones I stumbled across by accident, which occasionally happened when were I would go playing was underestimated.

just discovered that there are 4 people in on this gift! *goes slightly nuts*

I'm DYING of curiosity!

I tried that one year. I carefully opened and checked to find I was getting a junior scientist set with real microscope. Then, with the wrapping paper replaced exctly as it had been, I put the present back under the tree.

Christmas morning, my Junior scientist set with the real microscope had magically transformed into a common, ordinary masonry brick!

I never peeked again.

One year, my sisters and I all found the gifts, carefully unwrapped each one, and checked to see what it was. Christmas was a let down.

After that year, we never went looking again.

My mom has this neat trick of waiting till' the day before Christmas to exchange all her gifts because they're 'just not right'.

I never knew what I was getting.

I did that all the time.

My mom eventually kept all my gifts in the trunk of her car.
