China thread.

Thinking things through doesn't seem to be your strong suit. Exactly what do you think the consequences of their invading Taiwan would be?

Oh...you think I'm actually arguing your "china is gonna get us" bullshit

How cute

Chinese economy tanking.

Housing Crisis.

If you bothered to have watched the presentation you should notice that Zeihan is working off Chinese sources.

Next, pay attention to his closing statement. That statement invokes a question and the question is, "How far will the CCP go to retain power?" Are they willing to go into 'scorched earth' mode? And that is a question that no one can answer.

It's a question you and ReichGad have been speculating for almost a year now......

It's a question we've been asking for that long. (It's obvious you didn't watch the presentation so your post falls into the category of 'ignorant response.")

You haven't been asking anything....you've been waiting for what you believe is the inevitable and every post you make is some sort of "it's coming" bullshit....

You keep projecting what you THINK I think and as a mind reader you suck.

Xi is now an absolute dictator. Never since Mao has one man held so much power over the nation. He rose to that power through a series of purges starting at the provincial level and moving successively higher in the chain of power. He has successfully eliminated his predecessors and their followers.

I have NO idea as to the ends that he'll go to retain power but, as always, you plan for the worst even if you want the best.

So now, instead of taking cheap, and ignorant, pot shots why don't you engage in discussion and disclose what YOU think and why?

You demonstrate what you think daily here. I interpret those actions.

If you want a different interpretation, then do something different

Yes, you have been banging the drum on China making an aggressive move and starting a conflict for months now with RG joining the chorus.

Theres no discussion to be had here. Either people agree with you or you tell them they're wrong.

I gave my opinion early on in this thread. There's truly not much else to say on the matters unless you wish to discuss the prosecution of the Uyghurs.

POSSIBLY starting a conflict. It's a tried and true maneuver used by power brokers over the millennia. Have you ever asked yourself, "If they'll do that to the Uyghur's, what else are they (is he) capable of?"

But I guess it really doesn't matter to you, does it? If the Han just quit molesting (murdering) the Uyghurs everything is going to be OK. I don't suppose it's occurred to you that beyond running our mouth, we, the US, isn't going to do a damn thing about the Uyghur's. Why? Because in the long run it doesn't really matter to us, it's just another political talking point. If the Uyghur's were to be reduced to extinction the Geo-political dynamics wouldn't change a bit. They are minor pawn's, easily sacrificed, in a much bigger game.

For once, your analysis, in this case your analysis of Xi Jinping is spot on. (it's a rare thing, but maybe there's hope for you.)

So, if you can see that in Mr. Jinping, how is it you cannot see the same qualities in Mr. Trump? Who has proposed the same kind of purges both at the national and provincial level, and the same iron fisted authoritarian rule for the US that Xi has for China? How can you condemn totalitarianism abroad but yet support it in America?

First of all Xi is the family name, not his given name. Get up to speed on Chinese culture.

Re. Trump, he has no more power than the courts and congress would allow him. He is not the end of the Republic.

From the web:

“Under total martial law, the normal American law enforcement and legal system is replaced by a stricter set of laws and punishments that is completely controlled by the military or executive branch of the government. The normal checks and balances system built into the Constitution is suspended.”

The chain of events during a (fate forbid) second Drumpf term would play out like so:

1) Herr Drumpf manufactures a "domestic crisis".

2) Herr Drumpf declares martial law, and Herr Drumpf’s Military appointees endeavor to enforce it.

3) There is a huge outcry and uprising in opposition.

4) Herr Drumpf’s "civilian army" begins murdering people, with the predictable retaliation, creating a genuine crisis.

5) Herr Drumpf plays things out as long as possible.

6) Putin takes full advantage.

7) Xi takes full advantage.

8) XYZ "strongmen" take full advantage.

9) Freedom dies.

Yes but if you really piss him off, he ignores you. That's the ultimate move of him "taking the ball and going home"...

Every post is - "their economy is crashing, so will they turn to violence as a result"

But I guess it really doesn't matter to you, does it? If the Han just quit molesting (murdering) the Uyghurs everything is going to be OK. It does matter to me. Human beings aren't pawns. But yes, the geopolitical landscape basically ignores that it's happening and we should be applying more pressure to force them to stop. But we won't.....people are more concerned about Taiwan being a target or some hypothetical war that won't ever happen. As I said.....you made an entire thread about it.
