Hell, I admit I've been angry with my kids and have spanked them, but my hand NEVER comes across anyting besides a little butt or some rather grubby and naughty fingers, and it's NEVER a closed fist. One smack on fingers or 3 or 4 swats on a butt is sometimes called for, but NEVER is punching a child in the head called for. When that angry, it's time to put the child in the car and stand next to it to calm down. If i ever feel my rage building that much, I inform the kids how angry I am and that they need to go to their rooms and play quietly while I calm down. It's best to not be around me when I'm that bad.

Chicago baseball fans are starting to get a reputation. Cubs reliever Randy Myers was attacked by a fan (who got a forearm from Myers for his troubles), there was a brawl between Cubs fans and the Dodgers' bullpen a couple years ago (which led to beer sales cutoffs after the seventh inning), the infamous Disco Demolition Night in Comiskey back in the day, and now this.

Fuckin' weird.

It was said to have been her sister who is not helping the police either, the mother is sick needs help that girl needs to be taken away and put somewhere safe and loving poor little girl i feel so down and bad there is nothing i can do, just hope and pray they catch her soon

The local news interrupted regular programming to tell us that Ms. Gorman's lawyer contacted St. Joseph County Prosecutor Chris Toth, but wouldn't reveal where Ms. Gorman was, or even his own name.

i went to the fox news website and watch the footage at least three times, i felt so horrible, i love kids and someone like that should be allowed to have them, i wanted to reach out and help that poor little girl, i have a niece her age and it broke my heart thinking about something like that.

I cannot fathom hitting a child. Also- it seems the 4 year old girl was locked in a seatbelt, so this bitch basically ties the baby girl down and then beats the shit out of her.

This is just a theory of mine- but from what I have read in a few different places, I think the mother was trying to return stolen goods to the store (she was a convicted shoplifter, and the store tossed her out for some reason) and either the little girl might have said something that botched the job, or the mother took out anger of her failure on the daughter. Not that it matters why.

It amazes me and saddens me that no one (especially the sister that was with her) kicked this woman's ass. I am not a violent person but the bitch would have been bruised had I been there.

Did anyone else see the article on the news about that young blonde woman who walked her 4 year old daughter to her SUV, put her in the car, and then started beating her for over a minute, half the time with a closed fist? She's gone incognito, but the police are worried that the daughter will come to more harm, considering the mom beat her in public (it was caught on video tape in a parking lot of a store in Indiana), and what could she do behind closed doors?

Why would someone do such a thing to their kids?! I don't understand! I'm literally outraged by this... and.... good lord.... I just don't know what to say.

I had heard about this on the Radio today while working and was stunned. I saw the video on Fox News in the last hour and was horrified. If that woman would do that in a parking lot, it is too horrible to think what she must do at home. It is certainly one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life.

"According to a statement made tonight in Chicago by her lawyer, Rocket Rosen, Gorman is going to turn herself in to St. Joseph County law enforcement Saturday . . . Rosen states, 'The girl is in very safe hands and they are making their way to Chicago to turn herself in tomorrow morning.'"

"St. Joseph County Prosecutor Chris Toth made a statement at WNDU Studios Friday night around 10:15 PM. He stated that he believes Rosen's intent is to come here, but there may some things out of his control. 'He still hasn't talked to [Gorman] or knows where she is, so we're still treating this as though we have not been able to locate her. Hopefully we'll be able to. Obviously the best for everyone involved is if she turns herself in,' says Toth."

"Police think the girl, whose name is Martha Toogood, is only 4 or 5 years old."

"Madelyne Gorman has two outstanding warrants in her name in Texas. One warrant is for theft; the other is for driving without a license. The theft warrant was issued in April. At that time Madelyne told police she lived at an address on Bristol Street in Elkhart. If Madelyne is caught, she could face battery charges for the Kohl's parking lot incident. That is a class D felony that could carry a year and a half sentence."

As bad as what she did to the little girl was, I think the most disturbing aspect of the video was her looking around to see if the coast was clear before she wailed on the kid. If it had shown a child frustrating the hell out of someone who then lashed out in a moment of anger, at least then you might expect the person to feel guilty about it when they cooled off. They might seek counseling to prevent it from happening again. This woman wanted to beat that kid and then waited for the opportunity to do it. That's a whole nother level of sick.

This is the stuff nightmares are made of.

I had a nightmare once where someone had taken my beloved 2 yr old nephew and started beating him. I woke up crying, nervous and upset.

God, what I saw that woman doing to her own child was the same thing. I couldn't help but cry and say: "Oh no, she's not doing that" ..

That's a nightmare .. a true nightmare. This woman should not have children. Period.

Toogood earlier Monday told NBC’s “Today” show that she lost her temper but that she’s already being punished and shouldn’t have to serve prison time.

“I’m being punished. There is nothing worse that could happen to me right now,” she said.

I can think of worse things to do to her.

Has anyone read, "A child Called it”. There are horrors that our done to children in this world that make that woman seem tame. I hope that child gets help soon.

Too close

Come the end of the week I'll be up near St. Joseph county in Nothern Indiana where Ms.Toogood-Gorman is 'residing'. I'm terribly tempted to express my opinion to her about what could be worse but since my reason for being in that area concerns a mission of mercy of another sort, I'll behave myself and refrain from becoming a newsworthy event just this once.....

What really bothers me, is that people need to have a liscense to cut someone's hair, but any fuck up on the street can be a parent.
