And you so need to pm me and give me the scoop because I had NO idea you'd moved!

Fantastic!

No major scoop. It was time. I grew up here, and my friends and family are here. My parents aren't getting any younger, and my sister moved to DC, so the parents were on their own with their precious daughters on opposite coasts...

...and my love is here. After 20 years, I'm hoping he can get over his commitment phobia and I can get over my intimacy phobia to make it work... so far, so good...:cathappy:

I do miss SF, though. The humidity is unbearable, the landscape is so FLAT, and where the hell is the Ocean?!!!

Yet...Chicago faces are so...homey. :)

*waves at you from the southern part of the state*

I have a hard time getting away from home, but it would be easier for me to get to Chicago for a weekend than anywhere else. So, keep me posted of dates and stuff. :)

Excellent! I loved Chicago when I visited last year, and obviously I loved Milwaukee. I'll definitely look forward to getting together with you! You'll be so close and an excellent excuse to pop over to Chicago. :)

And good luck with the relationship. I'm definitely rooting for you!

I'm actually closer to St. Louis than anything, so it's not so bad. I've been to Chicago many times, but not for years. I'd love to hang out there again. :)

Oh, Milwaukee! I recall spending a New Year's Day at some hospital overlooking Lake Michigan. A few of my friends and I drove up for the Polar Bear Club expidition, and dove into the Lake on a fridid, yet sunny January 1...good times...

Distance from M to C...definitely pop over-able! :)

Excellent! :nana:

My only experience with St. Louis is flying over after major fllood...wow...the mud, the mud!

I knew she moved...all the men in California walked around with a sour look on their faces for a couple of days.

Just a couple of days? *sniff*

My deepest sorrow is that I moved before you and I had a chance to meet. :(

However, AA and United have some good flight deals...O'Hare is a major hub, after all.

Baby, it's California....most of us spent our entire teenage years stoned. We don't have attention spans to speak of... A couple of days puts the event equal in magnitude to the Super Bowl or verified nudes of Anna Kournikova.

I regret that greatly too...I don't have quite as many other reasons to visit Chi-town...although I do have one major one now.

hmmm...but now that my baseball writing is actually verifiably a paying position... if I come out during the season and we take in a game at Wrigley, I can write the trip off my taxes... :D

Ahahahaha Yes, Cali is...eccentric.

I'm a half-mile down the street from Wrigley... :nana:

Yep. The train going from one to another only takes an hour and a half and is cheap. Cuz there's no way in hell anyone could get me to drive in Chicago! :)

Ha! You just pretend it's a live action video game, complete with construction crews popping out from behind the concrete dividers, taxis from hell cutting you off, manic signal-less lane changers, blind right turns on red, and pedestrians never have the right of way!

Was in Chicago a couple of months ago. Driving a full sized pick up through them damn tunnels is impossible. My only saving grace was that it was already 11pm when I got there. I was going to the Hyatt and could find the place above ground, but you have to take the underground streets to get to their parking lot. Never found it. Ended up parking at the AMC theatre across the street and walking over with mine and the wife's luggage.

Was actually born in Chicago 46 years and one day ago. The Cubbies will always be near and dear. Been wanting to see a game at Wrigley, just not when they're playing the Cards. Be too weird rooting for both teams!

Do hope you plan another in a year or so after everybody figures out who the hell I am.

Chicago might be doable for me....eventually. ;)

(how far from Ontario?)

I miss Chicago. Think of me while you guys are visiting Shedd's Aquarium, would ya? ;)

The King Tut exhibition is at Field Museum. Might be a good perv field trip ;) :p

If a lit-together ever made it out to an aquarium or to a museum it would be....weird? disappointing? very surprising??

On a serious note, there are a couple of other (at least) Ahers up that way. Logophile and Extreme Bohunk and Zeb come to mind. SweetVa, too, tho she doesn't post anymore. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting, or others that would be willing to fly in, depending on the dates.

SIMA would/could be interested. Her parents are there, but money is tight for her.

:( I miss her...

Lower Wacker is not for the inexperienced driver...or even the experienced! Not only is there an appalling lack of signage, but those enormous posts cut visibility down to a minimum, everyone drives like they're on the Indianapolis Speedway, and it is inhabited primarily by insane cab drivers and delivery trucks. You get points for trying, though!

Mmm, about 500 miles? Pack lots of snack for the road trip.

Aquarium, museums, and culture, oh my! I thought our first stop would be the Pleasure Chest or the Love Boutique...

Excellent! I think we've got plenty for a quorum. Anyone have any thoughts on dates? October?

Late September or early October is doable.
