Not so secret problem of mine for some reason I really like them.

Here I was watching "Three to tango" last night and when I rewound it to start it agian mum looked at me funny. Is a maan not allowed to dream about getting the right woman to fall in love with him no matter the circumstance?

Even though Jennifer Love Hewitt shits me, I liked "Cant hardly wait" is that really such a bad thing?

Any movies I should watch like that where the guy gets the girl in the end not the girl getting the guy?

Da chef

You've Got Mail and When Harry Met Sally. Love them both.

Oh, and Runaway Bride. Umm, and Notting Hill, too, loved the story; hated Hugh Grant in it, though.

How about the movie Ed Wood? The 1950s producer of such shlock as Plan 9 From Outer Space, actually finds a girl who UNDERSTANDS his wearing women's angora sweaters, and she GIVES him one as a gift! Now that's true love!

Does the guy get the girl or the girl get the guy in these movies? Depends on your viewpoint.

My father-in-law said it best at their 50th wedding anniversary: "I chased her until she caught me."

Strictly Ballroom.

I love that one. So does the StudMuffin, we watch it all the time. Chick flicks don't affect his masculine identity a single iota. What man in his right mind wouldn't want someone to love and someone to love them back? It's a need that it ingrained in us.

I'm making some room on the couch for ya Cheffie, we can watch an Affair to Remember, you bring the wine, I've got the popcorn, someone needs to bring Kleenez.

Still Breathing
Bed of Roses
Jerry McGuire
The African Queen (that was a movie and a half...)

They don't exactly get each other, but the love that brews between them made me long for something like that.

Try Shakespere in Love

ditto to Killer's Jerry McGuire.

"Shut up, you had me at Hello...you Had me at Hello."

Oh God, it's almost happening AGAIN.

Try Addicted to Love with Matthew Broderick and Meg Ryan, it's a good one. Also, *grinning sheepishly*, You've Got Mail wasn't half bad.

yeah, yeah, I know...

KM, I'll bring the Kleenex if it is the original "Affair to Remember" with Cary Grant & Deborah Kerr. I cry buckets every time I watch that movie, I am such a sentimental sap. I just watched "The African Queen" the other night, Bogey & Hepburn, what more could a girl want?

Coaster, I just watched "The Princess Bride" yesterday, you guys all have really good taste in movies.

To all the guys who are willing to watch "Chick Flicks", I salute you. My sweetie & I trade, chick flicks for me & Jackie Chan movies for him.

Better off Dead, Say Anything, Angus, Loverboy, Can't Buy Me Love, When Harry met Sally just to name a few off the top of my head.

Hey, teresafannin, this chick happens to LIKE Jackie Chan movies! He is HYSTERICALLY funny! And the CHOREOGRAPHY that goes into his complicated stunts is AMAZING! No need to "trade" chick flicks for Jackie Chan, we enjoy BOTH at different times and in different moods. In fact, I think I like Chan more than HE does!

CelestialBody's comment about Marissa Tomei reminded me of another of her movies I love, My Cousin Vinnie. When she got up on the witness stand and knew EVERYTHING about cars, and her testimony got the two "yutes" (Vinnie's Brooklynese for youths) off the hook when Vinnie couldn't, and Vinnie fell in love with her all over again right then and there. Mmm, SO romantic!

Am I the only one who HATED "Love Story"? She was so manipulative, and then he lost her in the end anyway. You've Got Mail was a THOUSAND times more romantic, IMHO!
