Ease my mind. If you live in the US or Canada and you're in the middle of this latest winter storm, let me know if you're okay.

I used to hate summer, but now I decided that I hate winter.

I'm from neither, but I've had a gut full of summer and bushfires and carting water, so, yeah.

Check in people.

We're way south of the winter storms though we did have tornado sirens go off last night for about 3 hours and hail that ranged from dime sized all the way up to golf ball sized as the storms worked into a frenzy. The lightning was pretty, though, and thankfully we didn't see any twisters in our area.

pq, I know when summer comes around again, I will once again hate it, and winter won't seem so bad. I'm fickle that way.

Mazuri, I hate thunderstorms and tornado sirens. Glad you're okay.

Now more people need to check in. this is the Bobsgirl Is A Worrywart So Check In thread.

Everybody at the HTC, no matter where you are, is encouraged to check in.

Doing fine here. In fact, we drove out to a V Day dinner last night, though the going was a bit slow. We did see a couple of SUVs lose control in the snow and wind up off the road but they must have been duped into thinking that they could treat winter roads like a summer highway because of what they drive. Today it's a peaceful landscape with crisply shoveled driveways everywhere.

It is pretty isn't it? The snow sparkles. The sun is actually out here.

I'm in Massachusetts. Ugh..it's been snowing/raining since midnight. The rain sounds like small buckets of water being dumped, followed by steady drops. But being able to read an old magazine in total silence has calmed my nerves.

From the MI/IN border...everything is fine. When the first cold snap went through a couple of weeks ago my furnace quit working. Thank goodness I have a wood burner back up. 2 weeks later and many threatening phone calls
to the contractor that put it in, he is coming to replace it Friday.(it is only 2 years old) We have had many chilly mornings waking up to 50 deg in the house. Hopefully my gas bill will show some savings next month.

The weather reports have been amazing so I too hope everyone is okay.

A Ok

Everything's fine up here in the northwest corner of the continental United States. A little rainy, but other than that, handy dandy.

Yesterday we had mostly rain. It's snowing right now on top of the ice we got overnight.

My mom usually calls me if she hears reports of school closings because she gets up to get ready for work before I have to get my little ones up for school. When she called at 6:30 this morning my dad was trying to get into his truck--there was a sheet of ice over it!

My husband is sooooo glad he doesn't have to go out in this shit anymore. He once handled an 18-car pileup all by himself in whiteout conditions. His coworkers couldn't be spared to help him because they were taking care of an even bigger pileup.

I got smacked in the face by a few pieces of ice, but I'm good...I think I prefer Ed's trout though...

I'm glad everybody's checking in. :)

The precip's over here. Now we just have below-zero wind chills. Brrr.

Philadelphia is so icy right now, so I've fallen a few times on campus. It's really cold, but other than that it hasn't been too bad. I'm just grateful that I'm not spending another winter in Ohio.

just rainy here... although if something happens and I lose power at some point over the next 2 weeks, I wont be too happy since I cant leave the house by myself.

Ice is nasty. My husband fell while he was shoveling snow. which he should not have been doing. He thinks he's still a kid. Plus he broke the snow shovel.

Actually I am near Aspen.
Most of the big ski/mountain towns have gotten totally ripped off this year. The storms just missed us, wrapped around and hit Denver, Boulder and the plains.
Like they know what to do with snow
