I dunno why I haven't noticed this thread before, but when I did this morning, the thread title reminded me of my high school art class (which I barely passed). The assignment was to attempt a caricature of someone we all knew. Another student drew a picture of a top hat, tilted to show the inside from the bottom, and labeled it with the name of our much-detested assistant principal. The art teacher looked at it and then looked puzzled at the student, then raised an eyebrow in silent question. "Yep," the student said. "An empty hat."
The entire class erupted in laughter, and the art teacher had to turn around to hide her broad smile. Then she marked a big "A" on the drawing... and tore it into tiny pieces. (She knew how to cover her ass in those days of the 60s when administrators had more power than they do now.)
