Here's a fun one - anyone out there ever have a legit crush on one of their characters? Or maybe on they read in someone else's story?

If you wrote it than you should've put a ring on it!

That makes a lot of sense. Basing them off of people, for sure.Sort of. My two Lisa stories are based very loosely on a woman I interacted with online that I had something of a crush on for a while (she gave permission for the stories and told me she liked them). So in a way I have a crush on my Lisa character.
Write what you love they say. I definitely struggle to write any character in a scene that I don't in some way love or at least want to spend time with. In person or the page, the social tax is real! How can you not love your characters? Especially when writing romances, albeit with a lot of sex.
Walter Mitty-esque, I'll freely admit to wanting to be surrounded by the FCs in both of my novel-length stories, all wonderful ladies.
I literally thought about marrying one of my characters while taking the dog out one time. HahaAll you smut peddlers living in SIN!

By name and sited sources, I love itEasy answer: Eleanor from Cuckold Camp and my WIP (same person).
I feel it! Love that. I like to think (and hope) that bringing a real crush to life in your story world is a pretty good form of honoring someone. Impressions being flattery type thing.Yes. Tyra from MILF Cruise - Upgraded, is based on a tall, beautiful plus-sized woman that I worked around several years ago. She would get my heart racing every time I saw her. She was the lead software developer for a couple of satellite projects I was assigned to and I loved every second. She was an amazing combination of intelligence and beauty, with a great sense of humor and a boatload of blonde va-va-voom.
Tyra is her and I totally crushed while writing the story.
I’ll rule out my FMCs who are me, lightly disguised versions of me, or my id and super-ego separated into two entities.Character Crushes
ouch, I hear that. Its so interesting trying to articulate young, consensual love but having to make sure that ages are stated as such. I don't think it helps that in modern media, the best/only way to tell stories in high school settings is to cast adult adults. Makes it feel like it's a really approachable setting but then not feeling like you can really go there.Yes there have been a few I have based on various real ladies I have known or would like to have known better. One or two became composites and I found them quite easy to write, not having to make up character traits or physical descriptions. I still see some of them occasionally and wonder what they would think if they knew. Probably want me arrested, knowing my luck.
My biggest challenge in that area has been trying to write a fantasy about my very real and very overwhelming crush on a cousin some four years older than me starting when I was fourteen. Obviously Lit rules preclude describing my teenage lust and angst in any detail, so it is proving to be a difficult tale to tell. I know how I want to tell it, but I am not allowed under the house rules. There's also a bit of a guilt thing in sexualising her for kicks a long time afterwards, so this one is destined to just stay in my WIP folder.
I feel it.Lily -- mute but funny and affectionate, youngest of three, White brunette, likes to wear lilac and mint green
Naz -- manipulative but good-hearted, oldest of three, Persian 1st gen (= American-born) with dark curls, likes how bright whites look on her
Ingrid -- prodigiously talented but deeply insecure, younger of two, White blonde, likes to wear whatever maximizes her Zen for the day
Oo you bring up a good point. Writing characters that others can crush on... Well that's a feeling of success on the writers part I'd say. For myself anyhowMy work is full of character crushes. It happens naturally when your author avatar gets way more action than you do in real life.
Seriously, though, I’d gladly enjoy fun times with any of the women from my stories. Including the evil ones, if I too was a bad guy. Or a good guy handing them their just reward at the appropriate time. I hope ladies and dudes who swing that way will enjoy time with the guys too. And ladies into ladies will enjoy the ladies also, of course.
We ALL have a crush on Eden Baker.I’ll rule out my FMCs who are me, lightly disguised versions of me, or my id and super-ego separated into two entities.
I’ll also rule out the RL people I have RL crushes on, yet who still appear in my stories.
For girls, Eden Baker is the obvious choice. She has a little of me in her, but is mostly her own character. I also quite liked Miss Shapiro from Heaven & Hole.
For guys, Tommy in the same story is a supporting character, but I’m as fond of him as my two FMCs are.

Other authors? Well I guess I’d have to say Jenna and Cozbi by the lovely and talented @Djmac1031 .

@EmilyMiller appreciation post activated!@EmilyMiller and I apparently have mutual crushes on several characters lol.
Jenna, from my series The Jenna Arrangement, remains near and dear to me. I crushed on her from chapter one and she's grown with each chapter.
I love Emily's Angels & Demons saga featuring the hot sexy duo of Emma and Lily. The perfect combo of naughty and nice but still naughty.
I've mildly imagined my character Charlie Vey and Eden coexisting. When I was creating her and entering into the written universe of self-empowered exhibitionisty femme folk, I could see the "support group" they'd attend being the same, hahaha!I’ll rule out my FMCs who are me, lightly disguised versions of me, or my id and super-ego separated into two entities.
