Hoping someone here knows how to help me. I see many story series on here have a link at the foot of the chapter to the following/previous instalment. Try as I might, I can't seem to find out how to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction?

In your Control Panel you should have a Series (Beta) option. From there you can create a series and add stories to it such as your Girl With the Pink Hair stories (amazing series, btw ).

Thanks for replying , I’ve done that but those links still don’t show at the foot of the chapter - unless they’re invisible to me as the author.
And thanks for the compliment. I’m glad you enjoyed it

When I go to your works page Girl With the Pink Hair doesn't show up as a series and the links didn't show up for me like they should in a series, so it looks like something is glitched with it. You could perhaps try deleting the series and then re-creating it...that might shake something loose in the database. If that doesn't work I'd suggest sending Laurel a PM and see if there's something she or Manu might be able to do on the backend.

It's an automatic process that sorts on the first set of common words in the titles. You can do it two ways:

Chapter Title
Chapter Title Ch.02
Chapter Title Ch.03
(You don't need to chapter number the first chapter, the algorithm picks up on the second instalment.)

Or:

Chapter Title - Annie
Chapter Title - Barbie
Chapter Title - Charlie

You can also do it by creating a Manual Series from your Control Panel - but you have to publish at least two chapters first, to be put into the Series.

Doing it the alphanumeric way is the easiest, because the site does everything for you. Check out my story list for examples of both methods:

I think I've found the reason. Somehow my series were returned to the Draft stage. I've republished and I'll see how that goes. Thanks for your comments, folks

My guess it's the use of the colon that's buggering up the auto sort. I've seen that happen before. Also, the spaces - Ch.03 seems to work better than Ch. 03 (but I don't know why).

You should be able to fix it by setting up a Manual Series. Start with the title, then add each chapter in the correct sequence, and eventually it should work okay. It might take a day or two - it's not an instant process.
