Love eyes for you being a badass and an awesome person, not the shitty situation.

Hear hear! And not everyone needs higher learning! I swear, some of the jobs I see that *insist* on a 4 year degree are ridiculous. Like, I can't learn how to answer a multi-line phone without a degree???
Indeed. Though I don't think even a professor of theoretical physics could have worked the phone system in my previous office.

I legit don’t know how to use our phone at work… I can pick up, put on hold and dial out… but ask me to transfer a call? … uhhhm.. how about I just give you the number instead.

Thank fucking Jesus the phone doesn’t ring often, nor do I have to take calls from outside the company.

Next time we accidentally get a call from Jesus patched through by mistake, I'll pass that on. Although that place had Satan on speed dial...

I genuinely think that use of the phone system should be taught at every place of employment. Especially if they want a specific script to be said when answering 🙄 (yes I've been shouted at because I was taught and I was "too professional" 🤣)

That doesn’t even make sense… how can you be “too professional”?

Thankfully lab jobs … no phone training required… that’s probably one of the things I like the most about my job… I have ZERO engagement with clients/customers … I got enough of that working retail and cashier jobs over the years and FUCK that!

Another thing that kills me is the number of classes I attend they have absolutely no bearing on my field. I think you should be able to get a degree without having to pay hundreds of dollars, a class, every week, for electives. Why do I have to take a class on Art appreciation, if I'm taking one on Art therapy. Only one of the 2 is required

Well they never pushed trade schools when I was in school either. I applied for a lead stock boy position at a Target, and I found out I needed a bachelor's degree.
A bachelor's degree for lead stock boy.... if only we had such rigorous standards for presidential candidates, though in the opposite way - no one can run for president if they haven't worked & lived on minimum wage.

That’s how you can tell that university was intended to be about higher learning and well rounded learning… but if we’re treating university as a requirement for certain types of jobs electives shouldn’t be required.

That's very true... we're so fixated on "liberal arts" education in the U.S. I know in other countries, it's not the same... I want to say maybe in the UK and maybe Australia & New Zealand, most bachelor's degrees are only 3 years, with a fourth year only if you're planning to go to graduate school. Someone from any of those places please correct me if I'm wrong!

When I was working two jobs, I had to handle two very different phone systems and I did ok with that part. It was when I'd answer my "real" job phone with "You're a guest at Target, how may I direct your call?" that I got into trouble. 😂

@Mei5ter, this was before my pole days. Not sure those experiences gave me a one up at my stripper job.
