Change Your Name

I go by either first or middle name, I like em both.
Just don't call me Shirley.

Growing up, I always wanted to change my name because it was SO common...wanted something unique and beautiful...

But then when my beloved Dad told me that unique and beautiful come from the spirit of a person and not by what one is called, I felt better ( smile)...

And now...all I have is the memories of my Dad, who was the love of my life...and those memories include vividly hearing him call my name... So of course I could never think of changing it now...

I used to think my name sucked, then girls said they liked it and I'm quite happy now I never changed it. I was named after my Da and given middle names of my uncle and my Da's granddad. I looked back through our history on both sides and I'm the only one with two middle names. Made me feel kind of special.:)

I was not a fan of my name as a child, I've grown out of that now.

I named both of my daughters for Allman Brothers songs, their friends think it's cool, so I guess I didn't cause too much mental anguish for them. :)

I don't hate my name, but I've alway wanted some other name such as the following.

Deon

Dante

Da-Marco

Marlo

D'angelo

I hate my name. I hate the way it sounds coming from my mouth. When I was younger I wanted my first name to be my middle name. I've always loved exotic sounding names, like Naima. I think i'd like to have that name.

Cus your real name is not exotic sounding lol you are so silly ladybug. Naima is a pretty name though. I do not go by my first name but my middle instead and my mother started it lol. Whenever someone calls the house and asks for me I know it's no one who knows me personally since I don't use it lol. As a child though I was always intrigued with the name Katrine. And black hair and green eyes... Silly me.

I love my name, but my father wanted to name me Emily. I feel like I never would have made a good Emily. It is a beautiful name, though. I did change my last name when I was 18, though, but only from my dad's last name to my mom's after they divorced.

I like the name Molly (though that probably isn't your real name)

My father, mother sister and myself all go by our middle names.

Not sure if I'd want to change my name but I would definitely change the spelling...having a common name with an uncommon spelling is really a pain in the ass!

I never had a name in mind I just wanted something with more syllables...all the really pretty and popular girls at school just seemed to have longer names...Jane felt a bit short, abrupt and plain...now I love my name especially the way he says it, the way it rolls off his tongue and the lengthening of it into an endearment by all of my friends...Janey...

I also always liked the Scottish tradition of using your mothers maiden name as your middle name...my best friend has the middle name Eden...I'd use my grandmother's... Alexander...because I still miss her...:D

I had a phase when I liked the sound of "Britta". It seemed Scandinavian and exotic, conjuring up images of a tall, busty, blonde. Perhaps, I hoped there would be some transference. In fact, one of my friends called me that for a while and then just shortened it to Bri. To this day, she's the only one that calls me that: one of our special connections.

You could shorten your name to La Mode.
That would be very a la mode.

PS: What happened to the rainbow socks AV? I liked it. :)

Kept getting lurid comments from young newbies. Less salacious with the flower.
