As far as making the size of the site scale with the browser, it's possible, but if you have a big monitor, it's almost impossible to read text when the column is too wide, so I think there does need to be some fixed width or at least a fixed maximum width. Our current design was made for 640x480, which is really old - obviously it needs to be scaled up to at least 800x600, but beyond that, we're not sure what will work best for column widths. Even if you look at sites like Yahoo and major newspapers, they generally fix the width to some sort of maximum so you can actually read the text without turning your head.

just a quickie... without going to the hassle of making the design with the browser... wouldn't it be easier to simply add in a 'return' at the same point on each line in the 'Erotic Stories' section?

still looks a little bit too 'dense' i think. hmm actually it might be okay as you've got an extra part space between each grouping (i don't know how to do that part on here)

alternatively, on the new design, there are only about 13 characters that need to be added to the width of the design in order to ensure the numbers come onto the same line consistently. is it impossible to add those character allowances in?

i've heard people complain that other sites are ripping off their stories from here. i've seen on other websites where the text is not selectable (it works more like a picture---excuse my lack of terminology, i hope this is clear). maybe you can make the stories like this to help prevent their use on other sites. not foolproof but it might be an additional barrier

It can be annoying to have other sites ripping off my stories without credit. There is one site that advertises call girls (escorts) and every page has a porn story, including many of mine. There is another site that has very similar ads and also has a story on every page but they, at least, give credit and have a link to Lit.

I probably have more than 100 stories somewhere on the internet where they don't belong.

Suggestions/ buddy lisst/spell checker

We are working some ideas for "Friends" functionality for the main site. What would make the buddy list more useful here on the forum?

I've looked all over the HT cafe and forum and can't figure how to eliminate "dead" buddies --unless I find ancient posts to get to their profiles. An edit function on the buddy list would be great. AND A DAMN SPELL CHECKER. On major posts I write in Word Perfect and paste the results. Yes, yes, I had a Google spell checker on their damn tool bar. Not good-too slow; and they have that search function that can store the contents of your hard drive on the Google site. Perfect for the Feds to suponea.
