Fourteen months ago, I posted a story on the site about a young woman having extramarital sex because her husband was such an asshole. It started with a description of how she was pushed into marriage with a much older man when she was only 16 years old. I described a very unpleasant deflowerment BY HER HUSBAND a week after the wedding. There was nothing erotic about the sex scene and it was there to illustrate how lousy her sex life was until she found a lover. Today, after 14 months, the story was rejected because of "the underage scene".

Let me read it.

Your stories are usually quite superb.

My e-mail is "down there".

I imagine, after fourteen months, somebody bitched about it. Maybe someone who was rejected for a story with sixteen-year-old sex... maybe a plain idiot with no particular reason to draw breath.

After 14 months, that girl is at least 17 and a bit.

Just give your heroine a fake birth certificate like the rest of the teenage girls have, and then resubmit.

Seems odd doesn't it?

I submitted a final part to a series of Vampiric stories and had it rejected as the girl involved might have snuffed/ excessive violence etc. Ive since rewritten the end after some advice from a volunteer editor and resubmitted the tale but it has been pending for some time. other stories I have submitted since have been accepted.

The strange thing is that shortly before that I'd read an excellent if gory story about a serial killer slashing and screwing his victims wounds in gory detail which had been accepted. it was far more graphic than my tale.

Dear deepest Kent dude,

But you aren't going to go complain about the stories-which-are-worse-than-yours to the Lit. site, are you? Of course you aren't! But I daresay someone much smaller of mind and further from Maidstone did just that.

Of course, there are all kinds of weird fluctuations of the lines drawn here. Box and I were in a thread, not long since, trying to determine what sort of rape exactly was too rape-y a rape for Lit.

We had to quit looking for the line. There really doesn't seem to be a good clear standard. Sorry you were shut down. I was, on another front, myself.

What I did was write a novel around the scene. Almost done. I need to write the Hawai'i scene and the scene where his asshole dad finally realizes he's dead. Then package it, page numbers, headers, chapters, double-space. What the hell, might get it published.

I agree totally with you, if I find a story I dislike or find unpleasant I hit the back button and go elsewhere. It may be true that you have to police the stories but they after all are fantasies or at least I hope they are.

You were not far out in guessing my location Maistone is 8miles away

Actually, the scene where she was 16 was in the background information and the story was actually set sometime later when she was in her twenties. At 16, her deflowerment by her husband, a sanctimonious 50 year old deacon in their church, was more funny than anything else. There was nothing the least bit erotic about it. In order to avoid committing any sins of lust, she was blindfolded and her body was covered except for a small part cut out of her pants by her pussy, which was lubricated artificially. He couldn't see her body either so he couldn't lust for her. He wanked himself and just before cumming, thrust his cock through her hymen in hopes of "depositing his seed". He was able to penetrate her because he was, as I said in the story, hung like a mouse. The intention was impregnation rather than pleasure and every effort was made to eliminate any pleasure.

I must admit that the scene did involve a 16 year old, but she was with her husband and there was nothing erotic about it so it should have been okay. If I have to, I suppose I could change it so she is 18 at the time, but 16 was a better age, under the overall circumstances. When I saw the story was rejected, I responded with a note saying that, under the circumstances, the sex scene should have been allright but if it doesn't get reinstated, I will change her age to 18.

:( I just got an email from Lit telling me they shouldn't have accepted the story because it describes the woman's first sexual experience when she was 16. I have now changed it to 18 so it should be allright now. I have a sequel in the works that will be at least a novella, possibly a short novel of what happe ned after her parents die and I want to have this story as a background.

Box: Yeah, it seems like such an irrelevant thing to have to keep stubbing your toe on. You have my sympathies.

Hotchkiss: I do hope nobody is policing the stories. What a horrible idea.

Mrs. Grundy and Professor Bowdler always look much worse if no one is helping them. I leave all the censorship to the real pros, myself.
