Cell phone usage: Women vs Men

Who uses cell phones the most - Men or Women?

I have not seen a public poll on this subject. I think men tend to use cell phones more often on business related matters. And I also think, dispite using cell phones for more calls, men still spend less time on the cell phone.

I think women use the cell phone more for gossip and family related calls. These calls may be fewer, but much, much longer than the men. Also, I think women text more than men.

At our house the XY doubles, and in some cases triples, usage over the XX. Accross all modalities. More calls, longer calls, more text/pic and WAAAAAYYYY more data.

That's why we pay out the nose for an unlimited plan.

And I voted Dolf, just out of habit

The cell phone is my only phone for both the home and business. I don't really talk all that often, but I text a lot and get both work and personal emails on my phone.

Just so the OP isn't confused, the above quoted is a woman's input.

Woman Habits/Uses:
1. Calling
2. Repeatedly calling when they don't pick up
3. Block number calling when repeated calling doesn't work
4. Set up extremely long voicemail recordings so that by the end, the person has forgotten why they called
5. Make a comment about the other woman's long voicemail recording when you leave a voicemail instead of remembering why you called
6. Texting
7. Texting parents (you should know why these are seperate....)
8. For moms: texting your daughter at either the most awkward/most annoying times
9. Communicate with friends/family that is either in the same room/house as you

18. Apologize to phone for yelling at it 5 seconds later
19. Check the time
20. Alarm
21. Timer
22. Calendar
23. Calculator
24. Thing to annoy people with by pet peeves (tapping on thigh, popping the battery cover off repeatedly, etc.)
25. A chance to have to huge OCD problems, which sucks when you need to hide it in school .

That would explain your constant, and comical, flirting with me! It's sad really. I'm tempted to throw you the bone just because your begging pains my soul.

i use my cell for work and so the schools can contact me during the day. i pretty much never make personal calls on it and very rarely text.

despite all this, i still vote dolf.

Quit being so full of yourself.

You're nothing but a fill in until iMan reappears.

I am not that much of a cell phone user. I definately receive more calls than I make. I do not like conversing on the phone for long periods. Texting is even worse. I often do not have the time to be texting back and forth when my hands, eyes, and ears are occupied doing something requiring my undivided attention. The calls or texts from me are quick and to the point. In person, the conversation is much longer and detailed.

Most times I use the cell phone to find parts for something or to get a specific answer to a specific question.

I rarely, if ever, use the mapping apps because I know where I am going before I get in the car. I use the camera options mostly to study something I am working on. Sometimes to record something in rare cases I feel a legal action is in the works.

It never ceases to amaze me how so few people actually pay attention to this: And if someone calls me into their office/work area, then they damned well better put the phone down and not answer it. If I am giving my demanded, undivided attention, then you damn well better give me yours or I am walking away.
