Cats are much better at living on their own than dogs.

Cats' natural prey are rodents, birds, animals smaller than themselves; they don't need anybody's help to hunt. Dogs are domesticated wolves, and wolves are pack animals because it takes a pack to bring down a deer. That's why we can make dogs do what we tell them, they think of their humans as their pack leaders.

I've had dogs and cats. Right now only cats after losing a German Sheperd mix four years ago. Dogs just don't fit into my lifestyle right now.

Every cat I've had has been affectionate and loving. I have one cuddled up against me right now, with another cuddled again him. They all welcome me home, and feel the need to sleep as close as they possible can to me (including at night in bed).

I don't understand the "cats don't love their owners" thing. It's nonsense. But, cats will not be affectionate if you are not affectionate toward them. That's the difference with dogs. If you give a dog food on a daily basis it'll love you, even if you're kind of an asshole. Cats need more. I find them to be more human-like in that way.

How big is that thing? I mean she. She looks huge. Is that your daughter's arm she's on?

It's bigish. I don't know...we've not measured. And, yes that's my daughters arm.

We had service guys in the house completely shocked at the teenage girl walking around with a tarantula on her arm. They took turns posing with it to scare wives and girlfriends.

I could probably get to like her, if I got to know her, but spiders have never been high on my list of favorite creatures.

I have never had a cat or a dog or dated anyone with a cat, and the dogs have been extremely well behaved.

I think I would prefer a dog, maybe a full sized poodle because I like to go on long walks and most cats seem uninterested in that.

I was kind of sort of being talked into a beagle but ...

I am allergic to cats, anyway, not dogs so far.
Also very allergic to rabbits, but about 9 of them seem to be living in my yard.
