Thats what happened with Elsie and Grum, we said we wouldnt get any more cats after Toby died but in the end we decided that it was a good thing to do to give unwanted cats a new home, one much better than a shelter could offer them even if only for a few years, we knew they'd have a much happier life in that time with us...:cattail:

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

He feels the presence of your heart, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.:rose::heart:

Here's our new addition to the family. He's a bobtail and Hubby & I can't agree on what to call him. Some names we're mulling over are Bobo, JimBob, Sampson, Yo-Yo, Cougar, Harley, Gilligan and my pick, Gizmo. He stayed with his 'Grandparents' this past weekend and Dad says he's got some wildcat in him. I've a tendency to believe them. He keeps me in stitches with his antics.

Thank you hun, that is beautiful

Thank you. They are about 3 1/2 years old. Abby, the grey one, or blue tabby, is 2 months older than Gidget, the shaded golden one.

You're very welcome. :rose:

A question for you cat lovers. What are your thoughts on having your babies de-clawed? I've never had any of my cats declawed, but Gilligan has been trying to dig up the carpet. The Hubby is raisin hell about it and I am seriously considering the declawing. HELP!

I won't get into the declawing debate. Some are very passionate about it. Some vets refuse to do it. My daughter had her cat's done and the cat is fine, though some claim it affects the personality. I chose not to and used Soft Paws on them when they were small. I keep their nails trimmed now. Also I keep scratching posts around for them and tried training them to use the posts whenever i caught them scratching. I'd suggest talking to your vet and doing a little online research. Hope this was helpful.

Hey lynnette, here in the UK declawing doesnt happen, or if it does its exceedingly uncommon. I think it depends on the age of the cat, the older they get the more its going to hurt them so if they're much past being kittens I wouldnt consider it at all. That sort of behaviour can be stopped in other ways instead....just my view....:cattail:
