Casting Call/OOC: The Tower Academy

Hmmmm... I was thinking of creating a female Elven/Elemental elementalist for a teacher position... but it seems like there are already too many females, doesn't it?

I don't think the guys will mind there being so many girls...just means we'll have to have some interesting bi/lesbian/threesome interactions.

I like the sound of that.

I'm liking the prospect of the orin/mistanie pairing.. If someone could help me out of the area with the teacher and to take up the remaining bucket, I would be most grateful. I'm not asking for a pairing only a bit of help or small friendship for Ceri..

The problem isn't Ceri...it's the professor! She's got the whole wicked/bitchy/scary thing going on.

You're right about that, but the teacher said there were two that she directed to grab buckets of water and I cannot be alone in that. If I don't have someone come over, I am stuck there for quite awhile.

She did send two didn't she? Well I don't know who else she sent though...Lyra is up on the ramparts tearing apart a deer.

You might consider taking advantage of the Orc teacher showing up to get the hell out of there and just come hide up on the tower...that is if you don't mind a dragon feeding.

Easy peasy...

Just write an npc to help carry the water, Hikari. You're still going to have to wait for a response from the Professor though.

Man, this thing is taking off without my help at all. Much better than the last group thread I tried to start.

I'll try to have another post up later this afternoon.

You're not really that stuck the way I'm reading it. It looks to me like you're in your office working on something. Simply have your character get bored and go outside with everyone else.

Okay, if I slip away from the scene and go somewhere else who wants to bump into me? My character has a kind, but sometimes clumsy nature. I see possiblites for major calamitys started by her being startled and knocking things over as her wings jut out suddenly. I'm drawing a sketch of her and will post the final copy later..

Well, in all honesty, I was thinking about having Orin move himself and Mistanie further in from the gate, since thats pretty much where we are if I'm not mistaken. If you wanna write yourself through the task, or just flat run from it, you could easily run into me. (Yeah, he's gonna mind having a girl run into him! Ohhhhh yeah! ;) )

We should really make a map of the grounds to get an idea where everyone is.. I have no idea where the gate is compared to where I am, in the garden commons..

Name: Cellabrine Ardaquellis
Race: Half-Elf/Half-Unknown (suspected Elemental)
Age: Unknown (estimated as 2000+)
Height: 6'
Weight: 120lbs
Hair: A mostly dull white, rarely shiny even under the sun, collected into a bun on her head. Some strands frame her "tanned" face.
Eyes: Both her cornea and iris seem to be the same shimmering oceanic color. It is difficult to explain, but the best one can explain this, is by saying that there is a clean, blue ocean in her eyes. The "water" in them changes constantly, at times seeming shallow, at times deep...
Title: Professor of Elementalism

Description: Cellabrine (although she prefers to be called Cella) is a tanned-skin Elf, of the High Elf race, or so is presumed. Her ears are long and show the passage of time, reaching more than 15cm. Her strange tan, similar to spotted coffee, is a matter of high controversy among her own species, who would go as far as to say she is a Drow. Her white hair seems to corroborate this theory. Still, the simple white robe she wears is uncommon for a Drow's tastes, and her calm, friendly demeanour puzzles any woud-be investigator further. Her body, hidden under her simple robe, can be made out to be slender.

Backstory: Much is supposed about Cellabrine, or just guessed. Despite her sincerity and honesty, her habit of moving around all the time has made making out any sort of biography from the information she provides either impossible, or simply incomplete. What is known with all certainty, though, is that she is probably the greatest elementalist alive.

The earlier recordings of her activities point out to her being involved in the Elves/Dwarves war that took place 1500 years ago, and most versions make her a Captain of the Royal Guard, which means she was at least five hundred years old by then. In that time, it is relatively safe to assume she had command over two of the six Major Elements. In this case, Life and Water. Many songs abound of her "ocean-like eyes", supporting this theory.

(A note on this information should be made: While Elementalists abound, it is difficult for them to keep the Elements they use in a "balance" of sorts, since most Elemental magic is affected by the user, thus an Elementalist with a fiery temper has a greater domain of Fire. And even if in a balance, the usage of Elements in such dramatic displays as it is suspected Cella performed is, to say the least, difficult. Elements are hardly single-minded tools, and it takes an incredibly powerful Elementalist to keep the Elements in check after unleashing them.)

From that time on, her trail is absolutely lost to any self-respecting historian. The last time she was seen in Elven lands, was when she departed for "knowledge matters", which in the Elven language often means an Elf left to widen his or her knowledge in a certain matter. It is absolutely assumed that, since then to this day, she managed to dominate Fire, Wind, and Earth. Many legends that can easily be corroborated by her unusual eyes point this fact out, Cella appearing as a ghost, spirit, or demon depending on the locals' folklore. From a ghost that aided a human sea vessel to brave a storm by controlling the winds, to a devil that burnt down the Orcish Affarret stronghold using its fire breath, and even a fay that saved a small town from being swallowed by a sudden flood.

Her reasons for coming to teach are mostly unknown, not that anyone besides the headmaster knows that she is coming. Still, Cella's background is so mixed with legends and general lack of knowledge, not to mention vagueness, that her anonimity is guaranteed but for the oldest historians. The headmaster seems to hope that she will share her knowledge of the Elements with the students, and thus contributing to a widening of horizons in the Tower Academy's curricular plans.

WHEW. Hope you guys like her. Some of her background may be discerned through her first class, I hope. Oh, Victoria, if you want I could bump into you and get you out of that still situation.

(Besides, I am sure the sour, dark Lei and the bright, friendly Cella would make an interesting contrast).

Incidentally, what is the schedule? ;)

Have fun with college...I just finished it and it's time to join the real world...~sighs~ lol. I'm looking forward to getting a job, I loved my clinicals and can't wait to get back into an OR.

Aaaah, I guessed so! Is my character Ok, then?

PS: My other alternative is a Mermaid... that sort of can float in the air... yeah, I know. Strange (and a student, BTW).

*Giggles madly and rolls on floor* "Yes" is a fairly short answer, what part of it are you having trouble with? (Although I gotta admit, the idea of a free-floating Mermaid is an entertaining picture!)

Oh, incidentally, those of us that currently DO seem to have all day to read and post (ahem), also might be doing so on six different sites on SEVENTEEN different threads!! (GHAA!) I have to say though, Orin is the only one that lets me stretch my inborn romantic legs, not to mention my boundless love of olde world prose and phrasology!
