Can't Change Author Biography

Hi all, I see where this has been discussed, but I've yet to find anyone who can provide a step-by-step way to change the author biography. Can anyone help? No matter how many times I try, I can't get it to save.

I've been experiencing the same problem since yesterday. I've made some changes to my author bio, but no matter how many times I click "Save Changes", when I come back to check my author bio, none of the changes I've made have been implemented.

I am a new member and I am having this exact problem. I cannot change my profile or edit it to put any content inside of the bio. I hit save, and the profile refreshes, but always still comes back empty and blank.

I've already had a few rude people yell at me for not having any profile, which I apparently have to have or they won't relate to me. But it's literally just a site issue as far as I can tell, and not just me "being lazy," like they accused me off.

I'm not sure I'd want to "relate to" someone who's being a jerk to a stranger like that.

It's not like I asked them to do it. They just offered it up as "advice" to fill out my profile and "stop being lazy" on their own.

But I literally can't right now.

I am confirming this issue affects me as well. Click "save" and it spins for like five minutes trying to save the changes and then the bio comes back exactly the same as before.

JapanGal, I am sorry you had that experience. I do know that some people think that members with no profile are a red flag of laziness, but I know that isn't your fault right now. You may just have to be patient. Or try to explain to them what is going on.

If it makes you feel any better, this is like the fourth time since the new author profiles have been introduced, that the profiles have had issues in updating. I reported an issue back in June where the profiles would take upwards of 48 hours to update any changes to them.

This is frustrating, because to me, I update my profile all the time and I use it a lot more than some folks do, but you'll have to be patient. It can take a long time to address site bugs like this.

I was chatting to a chat mod. They are not responsible for the tech issues, but they apparently know about it and one of them was going to email Manu (the tech admin of Lit) about the problem so that at least he knows.

Mine is still coming back as blank every time, even after your update. Oh well.

Having same problem. Tried to update my profile bio clicked save changes and when i then check my profile/about nothing has changed

Checked my author bio litertally just now, and it looks like my updated bio is now visible on the web.

My profile still refuses to update even though I've saved the changes. Maybe this is another case of the same issue I posted back in June, That issue was, you could save changes to the profile, but it was taking 24 - 48 hours for some users to have the changes actually reflect on their publically visible profiles. Since you were able to save changes to your profile significantly eariler than I seemed to be able to, that would explain why yours has updated and mine hasn't, perhaps.

I was finally able to save some changes to my profile on late Saturday night, but it is now Monday morning and my Author profile still shows as blank. No changes that I made on Saturday have been updated at all.

As of now, I still can't edit the profile.

JapanGal, you are exactly right about most chat users never using or logging into the forums. They'll only ever see the blank author profile until this is fixed.

Hopefully it will be addressed soon, but just be patient.

Manu is looking into it. Hopefully he'll have the story-side fixed soon. I mentioned your about page showing what you entered in case when it is fixed that you have to update it one more time under the fixed code. That way you can copy/paste from here instead of having to remember what you typed.

I just changed the Writing Group bio. it showed instantly here in the forum. We'll see how long it takes to appear in Literotica itself.

If everything's working correctly again, the story-side bio should update within 24 hours at the most, and the text in the entry field of your control panel should reflect what you changed immediately.

It used to update the profile near instantly. I would put the changes in and like three to five minutes later they would appear. If 24 hours is now the expected update time, it would be nice to know about that...

I like to post links and pictures in my profile and I'd have to plan ahead if 24-hours for profile changes is the new normal. I know I'm not crazy thinking 24-hours isn't what the update time always was.
