Hard to miss with the av and signature line, huh?

I've gotten several comments today in PMs from people who say pretty much the same thing- "yea, I'm glad to see you're a Republican, I thought I was the only one here!"

So, this is a thread just to tell all of you that you aren't alone. Some of us Republicans are a little more outspoken than others, but we are here. And in a fairly large number I'd say, too!

I too, am an American and Republican!!

I hope Sin and Metal are kidding.

I covered a debate a couple weekends ago between the candidates for U.S. Congress in our state. The Libertarian and Green Party candidates turned it into a circus act. It was insane.

haha...and the republicans and democrats have never had their circus moments....

It was the craziest thing I have ever seen. I couldn't believe it, lol. And as a journalist, I see some crazy stuff.

When did we lose track of the fact that elections should be about actual issues?

how long have you lived in this country?

When we learned we could vote for ourselves the largess of the Public Treasury...

Just young enough that I haven't become completely disillusioned with the system yet, that's all.

well i'm 22 and i've realized the failures for many years

First and formost I am a human. Second I am a NATIVE american...;) (hehe) [for slower people out there...that means simply i was born and raised here]
My choice in politics tends to be Conservative....but that's simply my opinion. ^_^

*steps away from the microphone*

Ahhhhhhh yes, the Green Party. You gotta love this bunch. Judge for yourselves what kind of America these planaria want:

We believe in MAJORITY RULE (isn't that nice - wasn't segregation majority rule)

We call for social policies to focus on protecting FAMILIES. The young – our citizens of tomorrow – are increasingly at risk. A “CHILDREN’S AGENDA” should be put in place to focus attention and concerted action on the future that is in our children
(RED FLAG ALERT)

Green Party states with a clear voice its strong support for UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE (No comment necessary)

Middle-class and poor people are paying an ever greater proportion of federal taxes, and too often local and state taxes are unfair and regressive. (A complete fabrication. It's a lie).

These people are crackpots. How many voters thought they were a conservation party?

And bythe way, the REALLY stupid stuff was taken out of the platform before the election, like disanding large corporations, employer-forced health insurance, double time for OT.

 old man politics...the changes we need are not going to come from the two major parties, they are beyond redemption

Old man politics ! LMAO!

Do you support majority rule? What if the majority wants to deny you your civil rights?

I suggest you read their platform. It looks like it was written by a high school civics club.

cheyenne i thought you were canadian ;)

Nah, but my skin doc found a mole that he described as shaped like the Canadian maple leaf. On my left breast, no less. Damned if he isn't correct, too. I'm just used to seeing the mole from a different angle than looking straight at me so I never noticed the shape.

Does that count to make me Canadian by branding?

i vote for whoever gets me donuts.

(there was a little contest in Gov't class last election to see which class could guess the outcome of the race electoral vote-wise. my class was the closest out of that term's classes! a class from a full year before the election got the closest, but but how the hell could they collect their prize when a good portion were then scatered around the country? the teacher never gave us our fucking donuts)
