Can someone look over my story?

This is the first time I've had a story get rejected, the reason given being punctuation in regards to the dialogue in the story.

I wrote it the same way I write all my stories, with regards to dialogue, so I am a little confused as to what needs correcting.

Someone please help!

Well at the top of my head from looking at a couple of your stories, I see you sometimes write your dialogues as 'Oh yes!' instead of "Oh yes!"

That's probably where I would start looking.

Ok, thanks. Does spell check not pick up on that? I've run the spelling and grammar check a couple times, and it doesn't flag anything with the punctuation.

I don't think it does, you'll have to check the dialogues manually.

Also look to make sure that there's terminal punctuation for all paragraphs. In a recent rejection I looked at for someone, I suspect missing end punctuation in many paragraphs was what set the rejection off. In addition, if you using single quote marks where the system expects double, you may also be putting end punctuation relevant to the dialogue outside the quotation marks. In almost all cases, it should be inside.

You might look at this too. If you are writing:

He said "I do believe that's a pink dragon that just went by."

or "I saw the dragon, but it was yellow" she answered.

then you are missing necessary punctuation as well (behind the "He said" and between "yellow" and the quotation mark--a comma needed in both cases).

A quick look at a couple of your stories didn't show me any particular problem with punctuation in general, so I suspect, like others have said, that's it's dialogue.

Here are a couple of things you could look at:

From "The Night Before The Lunch:"

"We're leaving." Kris stated after what seemed like an eternity of him teasing my wet pussy.

"Oh my God, that's great!" He moaned.

Yes, I know that story was accepted, but still something to consider. Just a thought.

Good luck!
