Why is it okay to accept a sick body? Obesity is a sickness, not something to cherish..
I’m genuinely interested and not starting to pick a fight so if you have the time/will to explain or show me to a link then please do.

And I of course recognize that bodies are different, I don’t mean that anything differing from a supermodels body is bad, just that people who are visibly obese should work on getting rid of the fat because of health reasons. And yes I know diets are hard and there are a million excuses. So why is accepting obesity okay?
And I exclude people with actual diseases from this, of course I understand if there’s something wrong with your metabolism or something then you can’t really do anything about it.

You've been obsessed about fat people on here for years. How many more alts are you gonna create to address this?

Since when was being overweight something to celebrate or be proud of? Being over weight has comes with significant health risks, that is not cool. What I see are people who have neglected the only body they were given.

Health should always be more important!!! Why not be healthy AND be happy in your own skin? Instead of “if I carry on eating like this, I may get heart disease, diabetes or even die, but that’s ok because I’m happy with how I look”. That is just stupid.

Because, obviously not everyone has as sane a grip on life and society as you do

Do you feel the same way about smokers?
Alcoholics, drug addicts?
What about people who speed... you know, driving a little recklessly, knowing they could crash and die?

Of course, the OP is fat.

We know this because he posts his diet under other alts. It's all trailer park food.

As long as people keep making excuses, this problem is just going to keep getting worse. Everybody knows obesity is on the rise every damn year because people can’t control the amount of food they eat. I can clearly see when someone has an eating disorder. Obese people cost the NHS billions a year through fitting gastric bands. The way I see it, obesity is a self inflicted illness and I have no sympathy for those people who welcome it.

Portion control is a major problem. How many times have you made a thing out of a box that claims to feed 4 people and it barely feeds one? Our portions have grown to big. People eat till they are stuffed.

It's trolling, which gets posted to various sites promoting positive body image for overweight women:

My being fat is all my fault, it's true. I dug myself a hole that I now cannot get out of. It sucks being human and having this fault.

At what point in your arguement is overweight equal to obese? You can be overweight and still healthy.

Don't even... There are more of these threads than there are of one's asking where is the strangest place you've masterbated...

I doubt very much that rising obesity rates have anything to do with eating disorders, which have always existed and always been rare. I think it has more to do with a social/media/market/physical environment which is full of cheap fattening foods and is constantly encouraging you to indulge, while offering few opportunities for exercise unless you make special plans for it.

I honestly believe that a big part of this is voluntary stupidity. I'm watching my baby brother deal with diabetes, asthma, and heart problems and he's 13 YEARS OLD. I was overweight as a child, and it was for the same exact reasons. This is how my mom shops: TV dinners, candy, soda, produce. She went shopping on food stamp day, and this shit was supposed to last us for a month. So this is how we ate.

-Produce, all of it, in the first 2 days. Eat that shit, and nothing but produce. Apples, bananas, grapes, sometimes watermelon and carrots.
-Candy whenever and however much we wanted. We would literally eat pixi styx for dinner, and my brother would get pissed because I would take all the reds and purples and leave him with the blues and greens, and then they stopped making green for some reason, and we would get in fist fights over the oranges. *reminisces* Oh, childhood... Anyway, we'd pour them into coffee cups and mix the flavors together and eat them with a spoon. Sort of a "make your own lick-a-stick" thing. There would be reece cups and kit-kats and suckers and sweettarts and everything Wonka made. Except nerds. We weren't allowed nerds because she said we got them in the carpet.
-My mom didn't cook, so I learned from an early age the simplicity of "unwrap" "nuke" "eat". Banquet was a staple of our childhood. I remember my brother bitching about how he didn't like the mashed potatoes in the TV dinners and I was like, "fuck that shit, I'll show you how to make them edible" and I'd put salt and pepper and butter in them before I microwaved them, and he's eat the hell out of that.

This food was cheap, but it had practically no nutrition, and lots of calories. And it also sucks. But you get used to it. So I try to cook for my little brother, and he's always amazed that you can make food taste good. He comes to me and asks me to make him food now. But he still overeats. I try to teach him portion control, but he says that he's still hungry, and I know if I don't give him more real food, he'll just go eat junk. So I don't really know what to do. You would think that folk would care more about their kids, but my mom has no idea how to feed herself, I mean, she'll go on these phases where she'll eat nothing but ice cream or nothing but pudding, and I'm sitting here trying to explain to my brother about the four food groups and nutritional balance and she comes in and tells him that I'm full of shit. It's so frustrating.

I carry weight well, it's never been an aesthetic thing for me. I hate needles. I cannot get diabetes. I can't. There are to many diseases related to obesity. And this is from a guy who used to be a pack-a-day licking the LSD that fell on the floor at the club fucker. If it's to dangerous for ME, it's certainly to dangerous for YOU.

A significant number of people on food stamps have shopping habits of those Once-ler described above...

You see them in line in front of you at checkout. The carts are filled with sugared cereals, bags of chips, processed dips, and sodas to choke a horse. The meat that's in the cart is high fat content ground beef (when chicken breasts can be found on sale for the same or even less) or frozen "Swansons". Frozen french fries instead of whole potatoes...

I understand that families need to eat but the reality is the food stamps are handed out and either people aren't being educated or some are just ignoring basic dietary information, at their family's peril.

Add to that the couple of packs of cigarettes on the way out (for some reason they always have enough money for cigs but not food) and off the family goes.

And orange pixie-stix rock!

It's not just people on food stamps/welfare... I see it constantly when I shop - people spending 3 times what I do, but their trolleys are full of crap foods.
My grocery breakdown is like this:
35% spent on vegetables and fruit
20% spent on meat
30% spent on staples (flour, etc)
15% spent on cleaning/hygiene.
The 35% of my money I spend on fruit and vegetables equates to about 3/4 of the total volume of my groceries.
I refuse to believe that people can't afford fresh veges.

Lot of good information already posted. I think the crux of the matter is that we are getting fatter and fatter so we set the bar lower for things ( sizes are adjusted so that a size 12 is now fatter than it was in the 60s and the military has to take slower, more out of shape recruits that need more breaks)

Also it's definitely harder to eat healthy than like crap. And everything seems to have so much stinking corn syrup in it. The modern food industry is not helping. And with tv, internet, smart phones, video games there is so much that competes with exercise.

I'm a few pounds above the BMI table but not obese. But I know that when I do annual yo-yo increases in winter before losing it in the summer that my back problems return. I can't imagine being obese with the strain on joints.

Isn't produce supposed to be healthy for you?
