...and sign me up for an AIM account? I see a lot of people use it here but for some reason it won't let me register :( If anyone could register me one with user name Petercav (if thats taken, something like Petercav4534) and any password (ill change it later) I would be very grateful.
I know this is off topic but dunno where else to ask

Pete

I clicked the wrong button and opened up a thread in response to your favor.

Basically do this yourself. Go do a search engine for MSN messenger, Yahoo, ICQ or AOL. Those are the ones I basically know about. Figure out which one you want to sign up for. Again all depends on your server.

I think that all of the following have a download thing where it will walk you through the process. It is safer if you do this yourself and also choose one that you have friends on.

Good Luck!

Peace,
Tulip

Thanks for the help but what i mean is i downloaded AIM but when i try to register it says 'you have registered too many aim accounts in the last 24 hours, try again later' I haven't registered any other accounts and i tried this 3 days running, still get same response. AOL don't like me :(

Why do you spell favor with a "u", is that an UK thing? I thought it was just a Canadian thing.

Not sure then....

perhaps your computer is shared with others that might be using aim. Try messenger then. Maybe AOL is on the blitz. Perhaps you are schitzo and do not know it with multiple personalities. J/K. Somebody might have the answer here. Good Luck.

Peace,
Tulip

Just a thought...is there an icon on your desktop for the AIM? If so, you probably have numerous copies of AIM there. Right click on the icon and delete it. Then try downloading AIM again and registering.

I formatted my PC a week ago and don't share my pc so i don't think thats it. Think me only hope is for someone else to register me, thanks for help anyway

Dropping the "u" is done only in American English, a regional dialect of proper English or "The Queen's English", which of course comes from...England.

night/nite colour/color

American English has a number of improper forms that have made it easier for their less-literate population to understand and use the language in such a way as to communicate amongst each other. Their resulting loss of communicative subtlety springs therefrom, I suggest.

That being said, it's a quaint, charming dialect really.

I believe there's a thread here somewhere in which Ahmerkins try in vain to assert ownership of the English language by making fun of proper English...

Cheers
