I giggle and smile. "Can I have a hint?" I ask playfully. I hold out my arms as if asking to be held or carried back to bed.

I pick you up and you wrap your legs around me as I walk you back to the bedroom. "NO, you may not have a hint." I sit you on the bed and hold up the sheets for you to climb under them.

"Get some rest," I say heading to the bathroom to get ready to go to work. "If you do work tonight, it's lingerie night," I remind you.

"I'll wear that nice black one you bought me," I say, watching you with a sleepy smile on my face. "My love. . ."

I just give you a naughty smile. "I cant guarantee your safety in that," I say before closing the bathroom door to take a shower.

I give a soft chuckle, stretch, then snuggle back down under the covers, holding the pillow you use to me so I can pretend you're holding me and inhale you scent.

I come out a few minutes later and feel your forehead to see if you are warm, not because I know it is a risk, but because it seems like the thing to do to take care of you. I lean over and kiss you. "See you tonight?" I smile.

I remain in bed most of the day, napping or reading. I slowly get out of bed two hours before my shift starts and I feel weak. I send you a quick text, letting you know that I won't be working, but I was still coming in. I got dressed in sweats and a sweatshirt with a longsleeved shirt after my shower. I ate something then headed down to the bar, where I curl up on a bar stool.

I put an arm around you. "Not feeling good, baby?" I ask, kissing your forehead. "Am I losing my top hostess?"

I smile. "For tonight," I admit. "I don't feel the greatest, I feel like I can barely walk, baby. I should be fine tomorrow," I tell you with a kiss to your cheek. "Go, do your talent, I'll persuade Don to let you off early." I smile.

I laugh and tell you ok and return to the kitchen. The talent show begins and there are any number of ridiculous performances by members of the crowd and some of the greek houses. You notice at some point that Don and I have disappeared after a while. Suddenly, the makeshift curtain on stage parts and Don sits there with a guitar and I stand under a spotlight holding a drink, straight bourbon.

"I want to thank you all for coming out as always," I say. "It is becoming a tradition that I participate in this silly event, and so here I am. This uh," my eyes get wet. "This bar has been my everything for a long time, and recently the bar brought me my everything for the rest of my life." Riley hoots from the back of the bar and walks to where you are sitting.

"There's a girl named Lynn on that barstool over there in her finest lingerie," I say, getting a laugh. "And I love her so much." Tears start to trickle down my face. "The only thing I could do tonight is say that I love her, and do this."

Don begins to play, and I begin to sing:

Well I hope that I don't fall in love with you'
Cause falling in love just makes me blue,
Well the music plays and you display
Your heart for me to see,
I had a beer and now I hear you
Calling out for me
And I hope that I don't fall in love with you.

Well the night does funny things inside a man
These old tom-cat feelings you don't understand,
Well I turn around to look at you,
You light a cigarette,
I wish I had the guts to bum one,
But we've never met,*
And I hope that I don't fall in love with you.

I can see that you are lonesome just like me,
And it being late, you'd like some some company,
Well I turn around to look at you,
And you look back at me,
The guy you're with has up and split,
The chair next to you's free,*
And I hope that you don't fall in love with me.

Now it's closing time, the music's fading out
Last call for drinks, I'll have another stout.
Well I turn around to look at you,
You're nowhere to be found,
I search the place for your lost face,
Guess I'll have another round
And I think that I just fell in love with you.*

The crowd erupts and I stand there wiping my eyes.

I'm crying, Riley's rubbing my back. It's probably the single most sweetest thing someone has ever done with me. Wordlessly I walk up to you and throw my arms around you, hugging you.

Th crowd claps the entire time you make your way to the stage and throughout our hug. "I love you," I whisper, patting your butt and standing there as long as you need me to. "Let's go home," I say, wiping your eyes even as I tear up a little bit once more. I kiss your cheek and lean to the mic again, "Lynn, everybody," I say and the crowd applauds once more, making you blush. I turn around to Don and tell him very directly, "I'm going home to make love to my fiance," and he smiles and nods.

"Have fun Lynn," Don says to you. We make our way through the crowd and people smile at us both and tell me the song was great. We notice Courtney in the crowd and the guy from the bookstore as well, who had come to hit on you again. Riley hugs you before we leave and gives you a huge knowing smile. "You guys have fun," she says, mischievously as we head out the door and begin walking home.

"I hope that didn't embarass you, back there," I say.
