Camelot 2001

I most definately agree with Neale...

The research I am doing is mainly to help me GM the tale and to give everyone a guideline to what went on before. By no means are you guys held strictly to that view. In fact Neale and I have learned our lesson in the Portal thread about sticking so close to something that people feel restricted.

So, when I throw up the guideline, please peruse it and take what you need from it and then have fun playing the characters. Fun is what, we hope, our threads are about.

Sir Gawain

Wondering if i can switch knights since I have found NO info on Sir Lionel?

You are more than welcome to do so, MntAngel

I will switch your name now

isolde and neale

hmm....so, am i to be trusted with the little info i have of sir garlin or can i run amok as an evil bastard?

i wouldn't mind finding more info, but i wouldn't mind being thrown a bone or two.

isolde seems to be busting her ever so pert rump for you "puppydog eyes", could you possibly find any more info or a link to some on this wondefully evil sounding character for me?

I will come up with some info for you and you can run as 'amok' as Imoen lets you....she will be the ones with the reins on this one where evil guys are concerned. She has a nasty lightening bolt for the people who tend to ignore her...I wouldnt try. :D

Anyway...by tomorrow I will have posted the guidelines and what legends we want to follow...the only problem with this type of thread is that there are so many legends its hard to separate them and I want us all on the same page.

Other than that use your imaginations.

Sir Lionel:

Sir Lionel was the son of King Bors of Gaunes and Evainne. Lionel was also the brother of Bors de Ganis (Grail hero). He was the cousin of Lancelot in the Vulgate Cycle, but nephew of Lancelot according to Malory. He was named Lionel at birth, because his mother Evainne saw a strange birth mark his chest, in the shape of lion and the baby strangled it. Lionel became Lancelot's squire during Arthur's war against Galehaut. Lionel was knighted after Arthur's war against the Saxons at La Roche (the "Rock"). Melehan, the son of Mordred, had killed Lionel in the Battle of Winchester according to Mort Artu (Vulgate Cycle).

:) *Smiles*

I'll take on Sir Lionel if no one else wants him... *bites lip* So what stage in his life are we going to be at? Is he a squire or a knight? And... nephew or cousin?

I'm going to look up more...

Destiny...since Morganna bid for the spot of Lionell before you...and you are playing Safer, why dont we let her have it.

But...if you would like to add a little something to your plate I do either need a Sir Ector who is related to Lancelot...OR...I have some spots for more bad guys.

Green Knight info seeker...

HS, try searching for Sir Bernlad de Hautdesert (the magical green knight)

From the Deities and Demigods book:
As long as he wears his bright green armor, Bernlad cannot be hurt by physical weapons. this armor is enchanted for Bernlad only, and is normal plate mail for anyone else. This knight was one of the few powerful good knights that would not side with Arthur (though he also would not side with Arthur's enemies) and he was fond of baiting knights of the Round Table to test their courage.

Also try looking for Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, which (I think) was the most well-known tale of the Green Knight.

sir garlon

:( disappointed at the lack of info...heh well i guess i DO get to run amok! :D

About Sir Garlon

Isolde is be posting info about him, and every other character, over on the regular role-playing board. Also, if you do a Google search on "Sir Garlon" and Arthur, you will find scads of information. The invisible part may just be something that the writers of Deities and Demigods threw in, since it was for the Dungeons & Dragons game.

I'll be the green knight, after all hes one of my favorite characters. Sir Gawiane and the Green Knight is an excellent book.

It's ok :)

I was probobally typing that just as she posted it, so I missed it. That's perfectly fine by me! :)

I'll consider Sir Ector, or possibly a bad guy... I'll have to do a little more research. Don't wanna take on too much, I have a busy schedule. :)

*Laughs*

Destiny, the research is done and I have posted what I could find on Ector....it is on the site I gave above.

Go look!

Oh and EVERYONE....

I found this site where they are selling the knights of the round table figures....it is great cause you can see what you knight was supposed to look like (man you can tell Sir Safer liked his clothes) AND you can get a GREAT look at their shields which carry thier crests.

DESTINY!!!!!

Eureka! I hit PAYDIRT!

Seems our Sir Safer is brother to Palomedes!

I did a google search under Sir Safere when I found that particular spelling in an article....you would not believe what I came up with.

I only put one story...the one where the brothers meet...into the bio I did but you are more than welcome to do a search yourself.

LMAO

Anyone thinking of snatching an extra character in this thing might think about Sir Dagonet.

The man is hiliarious! Just dont listen to him when he tries to sell you a bridge in Brooklyn!

The Round Table had it's own con artist :D

Good Lord!

The last four posts have been just me...I'm talking to myself here!

Anyway...I have all the bios of the knights up. I have descriptions for all but two and a possible decription on a third. All three are not taken, however and so it will not hinder us at all. Soooo....I need everyone to go look at the description for thier knights. This is what I am going to use when I GM and you might want to be familiar with how I am going to view each character.

Especially look at the bottom where the Important Relationships are listed. It might be a good idea to kind of scan those bios named in your character's Important Relationships List.

Also, anyone with Bold text in their bio, pay close attention cause you are the ones I need more info from. Just read the bold text and post the info here if you would.

If anyone is interested in a second knight, all but the three have descriptions. If no one wishes to play those with no info, I will simply incorporate them into my GMing along with all the knights that do not get picked up.

For the bios of the knights go to:

http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=36721&perpage=20&pagenumber=1

no info on sir garlon. i'm not even on the list...that's not kewl. if no info i should at least be on the list....

Isolde I am having trouble finding info on Nimue can you help me out .. Thanks! :D

Interesting site:

If you are curious about what the 'actual' coats of arms and heraldric stuff for the knights of the Round Table look like, try this site:
http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~heraldry/page_arthurian.html

Oh, and tmuyo, the reason your character isn't listed is that he is not a knight of the round table. The other characters will be listed separately, once Isolde finishes with the knights.

Lady_Siren, Isolde plans on posting a bio for Nimue, along with the other non-round table folks, very soon. Until then, try using Google to search on the following:

Merlin Nimue "Lady of the Lake"

If you cut and paste that into the Google search box, you should get a few zillion hits. :) If you don't know what Google is, go to this website:
www.google.com

This link might send you straight to an already setup search for just that:
http://www.google.com/search?client=googlet&q=Merlin Nimue "Lady of the Lake"

If I can be of any further help, just contact me via PM, email, AIM, or MSN... hell, I'll even respond to a Stripper-gram! (Okay, so you won't get a response to your question that way, but a guarandamntee a response!)

SORRY

I should have said Knights of the Round Table...

I am doing a bad guy section all to themselves...the only reason Mordred was listed up there was cause he WAS a knight of the round.

I promise I will get to you guys...I was up til 4am and then back up at 9am doing research...I should have everything completed by today and then a first post done.
