Camelot 2001

MntAngel, Sir Lionell is yours and I will post what Neale came up with though it isnt as much as we would have liked. I am still doing research.

Here is what we have so far on the knights. That and what each of you have added is a good start. I will be doing more research and finding more sights on the knights.

Sir Lancelot du Lac-
was the best of the best in the circle of the Round Table, able to call on all the powers of a Paladin, until he was tricked into loving King Pelle's daughet, the lovely Elaine, who bore him a son, Sir Galahad. He was forced to leave the side of King Arthur, who had treated him as the king's champion, he still came back to aid the king in times of need, going on all the major quests, and defending Arthur's side in major battles.

Sir Galahad (Lancelot's illigitamate son)-
Perfect representation of knighthood, paragon of purity and
invincibility. Successfully completed the quest for the Holy Grail.

Sir Gawain-
Favorite cousin of King Arthur, noted for being vengeful, willing to go to any length to avenge a wrong done him or his family. Has a magical 'gift': 9am to noon, he gains in strength, reaching giant strength at noon, then returning to normal after the twelfth stroke of noon.

Sir Gareth of Orkney (Gawain's brother)-
Youngest son of King Lot, served in kitchens while a page, grew to hate Sir Kay, who taunted him and called him Beaumains. Most modest of all the knights, was known for always helping a lady in distress, especially one Lady Lyoness. Noted for the many colors he used on his armor and shield.

Sir Tristam de Lyones-
Known for his skill at arms and savagery in battle, this knight was
considered by many to be second only to Launcelot in battle skills. Tristram is well-known for his ill-fated romance with the beautiful Lady Isolde, who is married to the evil and cowardly King Mark.

King Pellinore
Fought with King Arthur and almost defeated him. Later joined the Round Table and became one of the Queen's guards. Pellinore hunts a strange unique creature, the Questing Beast, which his family is fated to pursue, though neither they nor anyone else will ever catch it.

Sir Palomides
A bitter rival of Sir Tristram, was noted for the quickness of his
scimitar and his courage in battle. Also noted for his use of a
composite bow.

Sir Lamorak
Son of King Pellinore, constant champion at many tournaments held by Queen Margawse(his lover), was the death of many of the knights of the Round Table (at tournaments). His greatest enemy was Sir Gawaine and his brothers.

Nimue/The Lady of the Lake-
Known at Nimue the lady of the lake she was the one that provided Arthur with the Excaliber a legendary sword. Not much is known about her except she is the sister of Morgana.

Sir Pelleas
A born romantic. He first appears in the hopeless pursuit of Ettard. Sir Gawain promises to assist Pelleas , but becomes Ettard's lover instead. Nimue (The Lady of the Lake) casts a spell to allow him to recover from his love. and he married Nimue.

Sir Bedivere
Physically very strong (though not as strong as Gawain). Bedivere was the childhood friend of Arthur. He was the most loyal of Arthur's knights, and the most trusted. He was Arthur's Cup-Bearer, and constant companion. He was kind and gentle. He was the one to cast Excaliber back into the waters, and the last to leave Arthur's side at the end.

Sir Bors de Ganis (he traveled with Galahad to retrieve the Holy Grail)
A son of King Ban of Benoic and brother to Lionel, he was rumored to also be Lancelot's cousin. He was a shrewd tactician and physically very strong (in his first incarnation). He was one of the three who actually saw the Grail with Galahad and Perceval, but he was denied its fulfillment. After the death of Sir Galahad he returned to King Arthur and gave him an account of all the circumstances connected with the achievement. Later, he died fighting in the Crusades.

Guinevere

starting off as

Delaney Morgan

Delaney is an actress..... broadway to be exact.... has been actively working since her first commercial at age 8. Recently got the part of Guinevere in a broadway play titled
Knights

Irish decent. 23 years old. Shoulder length red hair and green eyes. 5'9 around 130lbs.

If anyone has ANY information on Sir Safer, feel free to let me know :)

Present Day character:

Destiny Dorcha:

A shy young girl 22, she works in a library all day long and reads and writes by night. She fancies herself a novelist, though rarely gets to finish any of her writings due to her obligations to work and fancies. She is always lost in fantasy and hardly ever gets anything on paper. She dreams of being a heroine, the tales of King Arthur were her particular favorites. She often tends to neglect responsibilities accidentally as she gets lost in herself. But as the curator of the international library becomes ill she finds herself being forced to take on more responsibilities and neglecting her writing. Which she decides is probobally for the best.

(I figured the Internationally acclaimed library with a bunch of rescources might attract our traveling band. I'm not sure if that's how this will work. One person starts and finds another by chance or whatever and begins to search out the rest? *Shrugs* Either way it'll be a great rescource for her investigation of her previous life at the least :)

She has very short cropped black hair, I know not at all becoming of a heroine. :) Dazzling blue eyes over alabaster skin. She isn't model skinny there is a slight curve to her belly, but she's not overweight, not quite to the point of a Greek Beauty but close. She has a soft giggle and an infectuous smile. She can be found daydreaming constantly, and has a bit of a clumsy streak.

Everything I needed to know about King Arthur...

I learned from Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail!

(Just kidding, Isolde, hon.. I promise not to call anyone a bloody peasant or sneak into any castles inside a Trojan cow... However, the first Killer Rabbit I see gets it!)

No, I don't want any medication, dammit! I am King Arthur, I am! No, no, I thought I was Napolean last week... much better now...

Just under three pages for the first "Holy Grail" reference?

It's a fair cop...

I've been trying to resist the temptation...

but it had to be said... However, I won't let it degenerate into a Python fest. (As I have on numerous other occassions. :) ) (For real fun, start shouting out Holy Grail stuff in Everquest... You can drive an entire zone nuts in short order!)

Our lovely Imoen has found a marvelous

site.http://www.employees.org/~pcorless/pendragon/

Most of the stats are in game playing form but it does have a bit on Sir Safer.

Seems was royalty in a lesser clan and had to take over his father's place after he died and before our knight could sow his wild oats.

This makes Sir Safer live up to his namesake. He is very responsible, very bookish and very loyal to his family. But, hey, the man did make people sit up and stare with his fashion sense. Always in the latest fashion.

I am going to go through and summarize for the knights we dont have and TRY to put up some kind of relationship guide as well as who has pissed off who guide....the old grudges will come back into play as it is only human but the knights will have to learn to overcome it in order to resurrect their king.

Sir Lancelot - The past is the past. But someday I will repay my debt to King Arthur

AFM is my bastard son.. I love it. :D

Current -

Max Stanion. 28 year old Construction worker. Is thought of as one of those people who helps others and then gets embarresed when people try and recognize him for that. He has recently gotten engaged to his longtime girlfriend and is working with her on their marriage in the winter.

Wow Isolde! Thanks for the reference! I hadn't even found a reference to his name yet :) Thank you!

I am curious since I will be Lady of the Lake I was wondering who will be Pelleas?

Ill take the part of Sir Lamorak . I can play his cocky "Gotta-win" attitude EZ ^_~ no one hate me for it though :)

ok...
how come movies change everything? lol

in 'First Knight'
Arthur is a lot older than Guinevere...
yet everywhere I look... they are only 5 years difference in ages...

and home come she didn't have any children? lol

Oh, really...?

Ye might want to be after asking Mordred and Bors aboot that, laddie.

A day late and a dollar short...again...

Well!

I’m another huge fan (and believer, so to speak) of all things Arthurian, and sort of a collector of retellings of the tale, including CAMELOT 2000, a 12-part comic book set by DC comics, which is quite close to the premise of this thread—very cool, y’all--

Would looooooove to participate, but the cast seems to be complete—a pity! The characters all look wonderful so far—

Please join! We have plenty of spots. We have a whole nother list for you to pick from and we would love to have you.

Oh, and about Guenivere....

Arthur was simply too busy fooling around and making illigetamate kids to make any that could sit on the throne...a typical man.

*ducks and runs for cover*

Why you're jus banging two coconut shells together :D

i would love to play a part

i wanted in when i saw the first entry , but when i ran thru it seemed lie you were just focusing on the knights, and although that's important i felt the need to be bad, but none were really offered.

now that there's another list please send me an email or something so that i can be some evil ass kicking sunuvabitch of old in the new. maybe we bad guys can win this time and cut that merlin's tongue off so no more spell casting. damn near killed me with a fireball one time and i've been bent on cutting the damned thing off and wearing it on a chain.

no offense to you of course isolde.

:p <-------ah and there's the tongue i speak of now........

sounds fun so totally count me in, besides, i need to brush up on my wrinting skills. all my professors say i need to improve personal narrative and a few other things, but with a story as massive as this will proably be i doubt that'll happen to often. i still want it of course.....just remember....tmuyo would like something truly evil (not morganna tho).

please tell me mordred would still be availiable

notice i didn't phrase that as a question.....

it's ok if it is, just pass the info on who was an evil bastard under mordred.

also, being new to this i don't understand the classifications of names and such....virgin obvious, experiened, really experienced...but how many posts do you have to do before you can creat ur own? and how can i import a graphic next to my name.....please help one more pitifully ignorant newbie.

one more thing

is it too late to opt for a poll once you have already started your story? "a life in the land called east" is my "cherry popper" so to speak, and i want to know what others think. i thought maybe a poll would help guide me. if anyone is interested please feel free to leave me constructive criticism in the form of email.

:D

Sorry Tmuyo, I am Modred now, I allowed some opt in time for others, but that has ended since my backup character was taken. Talk to Isolde about bad guys, but the truth is, many of the knights were not what you would call pure, especially later in Arthur's reign.

If no one minds me asking when does this thread actually start? I'm just curious.
