Calling out fakes?

Me and hubby have been reading Lit stories for years but haven't joined in 'til now (waiting for our first story to be edited!!!!). Now that we have, we discovered the forums (oh, if we only knew before!!!), and the AM Pic board.

So I've been looking at it the whole day: there are some really sexy hunks and ladies on Lit! But I also found some threads that are obviously fake. Eg., there's one going on right now with 100+ replies where the guy (I'm assuming) who's pretending to be the woman in the pics didn't even bother to do his photoshopping right. I mean, it's so obvious, but nobody's saying a thing, they're just replying how awesome and beautiful "she" is!!

So, since I'm new here, let me ask - is there some unwritten rule about keeping a blind eye to those things? Should I say something? Do guys here care if there's a real woman on the other side? The real guys and girls who post their pics, doesn't this make you angry?

Well sometimes people do post "I think this is a fake" but you can hardly ever prove anything.

Sometimes I think it could be fake, but you cant do much about it but wait till the person makes a real slip. I for one don't want to scare of any real posters just because I think they are fake.

A while ago someome pretended to be a pornstar, once the site was linked the mods deleted the post as far as I know.

But sometimes the pics are to hot to care really

I only call people out if I'm able to find the original source of the pictures (www.tineye.com can be helpful). I kind of feel like no matter how obvious it may seem that the person's a fake, you should have more evidence than just your perception before you bother making a stink.

I don't really care... if I have the idea someone is faking a thread I just don't visit it... Of course, since I have a male thread, (and for some reason those drop to the bottom of the list like bricks ) it can be annoying to see a thread with 100 posts after a day that is so obviously faked....

The rules state that it's only allowed to post pics you have taken yourself, so if you can prove that the pics are copied from anothersite, contact a moderator, and it will be taken care off.

I personally don't like fake threads myself, and perfer to see them gone

I've been on Lit for almost a couple years now, and recently I've noticed the number of fake or phony threads go up for some reason.
But not just in AmPics, also in the Personals, and other boards.
To me it can be kind of annoying, seeing the amount of "virgins" and people with "N/A" in their bio posting. As far as AmPics, I've commented before about fakes, but at this point I just avoid them. You'll get to know who the real posters are, when they show up. And if you notice, those people posting about said fakes, don't post hardly at all either.
I say just ignore them and try to encourage others(like the guy that posted before who's thread doesn't get bumped) by posting in their thread, or find the board you like. Saying something doesn't always help. The fakes usually go away.
As to the argument, "if you don't want to know it doesn't matter, she's hot, then she's hot" argument, well, why don't you go somewhere else, anywhere else on the internet that's covered in random porn, so as to not discourage people who actually post and enjoy feedback? And to NOT encourage people to come on here with pictures of their ex's. That's useless in my book.

Welcome to the boards!! I don't see too many fakes here. A few here and there but most fake threads dwindle away after a little bit. Most don't stick around. There's no unwritten rule about turning a blind eye. Some guys will call them out, some will sincerely not notice and compliment the pictures, and some guys don't care if the poster is really the one in the pictures. I am a "real" poster and it does make me angry only because the person in the pictures has no idea that they're on the site and that is so unfair.

It doesn't really bother me. I guess I'm another that views most of this as strictly fantasy anyway so why not. Plus having worked in video production and print I know that all the pics in magazines and billboard are to a certain extent "fake" as well. There isn't a cover model you've seen in the last 20yrs that wasn't photoshopped after two hrs in makeup and hair and every trick of lighting known to man used on. I had a friend who worked on a celeb's nipple (male that you know) for two weeks to make it perfect before it showed up on Harper's. And yes, I really am a gorilla.

It is true that there are some fakes on here (I don't really understand why someone would get pleasure out of posting somebody else's pictures, but alright). However, Lit also just happens to have a lot of really, really attractive men and women posting in the AmPic threads.

Going off of what Malstroem said, it is really funny to me when someone thinks they're sneaky and attempts to "trick" me into proving I'm real by getting on cam. =P

As others have said, the fakes don't last very long at all, usually. It's just too much work to keep a picture thread running regularly if you're not real. I think it eventually becomes a buzzkill for them, haha.

I've had a couple of threads on ampics and honestly, I never gave a fuck -nor do I now- about people posting fake pics -unless they're mine, something that has never happened : D-.

Of course we all play a character here, so did I with my pics, but adding some atrezzo or looking for your best angle has nothing to do with saying that you are someone who you're not.

What really annoys me is the little love some people show to photography and detail.. let's be honest.. i'm not a professional, i just enjoy taking pics -nude and non-nude ones- but leaving aside some exceptions, you can find rather crappy pics here, with dirty backgrounds, ugly close ups of ugly spread cunts and so on, which i fully dislike.

Just in case, this has nothing to do with body shapes or quality of the camera - I find curvy women much more photogenic and cellphone or cam pics very spontaneus and attractive- but even if I believe everybody has something beautiful to show and I love amateurism, damn, you don't just click and submit! You click, click, click and sometimes you don't submit a fuck because the pics you've got are not worth it! You have to be your first filter.

And, running the risk of being called conceited, this is my rant and luckily for you, it's finally over : D

Hi Encore! No, I didn't mean anything like that - I was talking about photos taken from other sites or photoshopped on other people. That's really annoying when it happens (but from what I can tell, it happens rarely).
