I know being a SAHM gets to be a pain for me. And lit is an easy escape from reality at the end of a hard day.

So whether you're a F/T or P/T sahm: single, married, divorced, etc... Stop in and say "HI!". I think we deserve someplace to say what we want, voice our frustrations, meet others to ask for opinions or advice. Just do or say what you want...

My wife is a SAHM but we home school too.

HI

Just thought I'd drop you a line. I live in Iowa too. Near Des Moines.

I am a SAHD (wow that is kinda funny) and a full time student, so I understand where you are coming from. For me it has more to do with boredom. I used to be a very social person go hang out with friends and play games watch movies. And now I am forced to spend much of my time at home becuase my wife and I only have one car. I love spending time with my daughter but when she is taking her nap I have very little to do. On top of not being able to go anywhere my homework load this quarter has been painfully small and all the time I had set aside for that school work is totally extranious. I found my self more and more just watching movies over and over again. And reading the same books over and over again. But since I have joined lit it has been a great way for me to not only pass the time but also socialize with other adults.

You two have more patience than I do! I'm keeping track on the calendar- counting the days left until school starts again for my kid. I actually think I'm getting more excited than my 5yr old

WOW! After reading that it's kind of amazing how similar some people's lives can be.

I'm in almost the same boat here, except my classes don't start full time until this fall. But we share the car, and i rotate my studying and errands around his changing shifts. Which has killed any social life I had, besides those online. I have to agree that lit becomes a nice place to turn to.

HEHE, I love that one! Gonna write it down & take it to class tomorrow. See what kind of response it gets from a bunch of the SAHMs, and the single dad that happens to be in the same course.

Ok I looked at your profile and you are even the same age as me, and share some of the same interests. I think you are copying me.....I'm watching you...

Uh-Oh better be careful what I do then ;)

Just curious what you're hiding that's so similar about the profiles? I don't see much similarities besides age and being stuck at home lol Must be my lack of sleep or something

Oh you'd be surprised at how well your kids would behave once they are out of the system. Teaching them school yourself is the ultimate thing. YOU are the one that makes sure they understand and YOU are the one that sees that they don't!

If you ever really sat down and figured how much time the kids actually do any studying in school, you'd be amazed. 2 to 2.5 hours tops!! The rest of the time they are at recess, calming down from recess, eating, calming down from eating, going and coming from the classrooms, etc.

It's easy to do once you get it down. And by the time they are in fifth grade, they have the knack of it and do most things on their own. You just support, test, and provide results to the state. You'll see how fast you can send your child through school.

I taught my son how to read before the first grade.

well anyway (get off my soap box)...................

I love the SAHM concept. It rules! Heck my mom was for a while.

Well you like puzzles, I love word puzzles and logic problems. I am a computer/video game addict. I read alot. And i have got a pretty kinky side too. But then I think everyone on this site does :) .

Speaking of kinky, does anyone know the difference between erotic and kinky?

Erotic sometmes uses feathers, kinky will usually use the whole bird. :)

Puzzles, yeah, but the number, computer, or jigsaw stuff. not the word ones. One word can make you think of something else, then something else, etc... usually right towards kinkyland.

The reading :D that's what lit's for.

I'll admit though, the more focus and thought an activity takes, the more I like it. Less opportunity for me to let my mind do as it pleases
