In practice, the system probably relies on individual reports, as I bet there aren't easy ways for software to identify the sort of stories the site doesn't want. I've published a story which is mostly a character's rant denigrating the Catholic Church - but against the backdrop of his mother's funeral and life-affirming sex with their partner. But I would lay money that some readers are particularly snippy about stories with Jewish or Muslim characters and likely to report them. That LW audience may well want to defend Christianity too, while GM readers will have a more complex relationship with religion.

I'm black and have a Fetlife and Reddit under the same name to prove it and I agree with @Dr_Strabismus: this is a white neighborhood. A lot of my stories deal with race and even religion due to how I grew up(how a lot of black people and other people of color grow up) and I am still upset this site has a no religion rule. How the hell do they expect this site to be diverse if we can't even write about or experiences within our stories?

One of my stories with a Jewish lead was banned because of the rule, and I recently submitted a story just now that I wouldn't be surprised it gets banned because the main lead is Catholic and Hispanic. Most Hispanics in North America have a Catholic up bringing; it's a stupid ass rule and unless they open their minds, this site is always going to be white country.

The religion rule is more a don't respect or disrespect religion I think than an out-and-out ban. You aren't to promote one belief over another is how I understood what I read.

On a different note, I am deeply troubled by the fact that every sex/erotic website has a dedicated category for interracial content. Reducing attraction to skin color or eye shape alone is an affront to humanity, particularly when the stories being promoted are often riddled with tired stereotypes about non-white individuals.

Engaging in interracial sex is a classic sexual turn on that only has political connotations if you bring those connotations to it. Stereotyping also is a classic fast track to sexual arousal. If that is what happened to every author - then i would agree - but it doesnt. I've seen authors hounded on these boards for their stories - stories that it has to be said were posted, and were therefore within the rules of the site, but for some reason people on the forum took against them and attacked.
Go to the thread that complains about violence in stories - and tell them there to 'one star em and keep it moving' and see what response you get

I don't stick my nose into what the Web site is permitting other writers to write. Mind your own business and be grateful you can write what the Web site lets you write here. Be an adult, and your blood pressure will thank you for it.
