There's a lot of whining and complaining going on about this fiscal cliff deal.
I'm curious - so many of you are moaning about how the USA is doomed, what would you have done?
You all seem to have it in for Obama.... who, as far as the rest of the world can see, is hamstrung by your gov't system, in that he is forced to negotiate 'lesser' deals because if he doesn't the opposition will vote it down anyway.

So, here's your chance.
Please explain what you would have done in this situation.

People want "spending cuts". They don't want to say what they want to be cut though because they like what the spending is on. So the debate instantly devolves into utter stupidity.

Look at the last election cycle when Republicans accused Democrats of defunding Medicare. What an evil act! Romney even pledged to throw another .$75 trillion into Medicare spending. But also Republicans want less Medicare spending - but any reduction in coverage, services, or compensation to doctors is terrible.

Military spending is a huge part of the budget and we want CUTZ! But the military is sacred and if it's cut while Democrats are in power, well it's going to be used to attack them next election for being "weak on defense".

This is where America is at.

starting with 2% first year

3% second year

starting 2014

and STOP being STEW PID and paying WELFARE etc to ILLEGALS.......increase SS retirement to 67.....for everyone under 50, means test on SS payments and medicare

increase FICA above 500K in earnings and higher still above $1 million

What does cut everything back 10% mean? Cut back already earned pension payments? Cut earned veterans' benefits? The CIA? Medicare provider reimbursement? Military budget?

Then blame the fallout on the Democrats?

We have to change the way government collects taxes.
First thing we need to do is have a managed default
Then ditch the IRS go with a flat national sales tax of 16 are 15 percent
That would force the government to change way things are done.
Roll back to say 1960 are 65 CPI but doesn't matter no one in DC wants to fix anything.
in year are two this will collapse under its own weight
This ponzi scheme about ran its course.
