California’s “bullet train” runs off the rails.

California is the smart pretty girl you couldn't afford or keep up with, boomerror.

Probably all those regulations imposed by the Trump administration.

You remind me of Jack Black in Shallow Hal, no matter how ugly something is in Cali or the Dem party you think its beautiful.

There's nothing wrong with admitting something failed, or someone you supported failed. Those are teachable moments.

Which is why you'll always be an idiot.

I understand why you didn't like California. You can't afford to live in the nice part where that doesn't happen.
The fact that it does happen, in what was prominent and beautiful areas, IS a problem. Even if you can afford a better neighborhood.

California is beautiful and a desirable place to live despite the drawbacks. And while the Dems are corrupt, I fail to see how the Republicans aren’t just as bad about wasting taxpayers dollars.

I'm not going to cooperate with the Communist New York Times and jump through their hoops to read the article in the OP but Breitbart (Economy) has some pull quotes and this is their lead:

The French national railroad company intended to help California build its high-speed rail from San Francisco to Los Angeles, but ended up leaving the state to pursue projects in war-torn North Africa, which the company said was a less “dysfunctional” place.

The New York Times published a lengthy essay on Sunday about how California’s “bullet train” failed — despite the fervent desire of Gov. Jerry Brown (D) that it be built, and the investments of both the Obama and Biden administration in its supposed construction.

lmao

When did I say, "nothing's wrong?" Fuck off back to your trailer, dipshit.

Cool, you just described the entire fucking world.

I did. I just don’t like the idea that if we can afford better, we ignore issues. Not saying you were implying thAt. But I get why people are down on Cal. They see a huge state as just SF and LA. And there’s definitely problems to sort out.

💯

That's why I make a point to point out their ignorance.

Why are so many cheering on the demise of a project? I get not liking government waste and overreach. But are you wanting it to fail because you don’t like those who suggested it?

You know the state is full of human beings. Those that have to work for a living but still want to provide their family with a better life than living one atop the other in the bigger cities. This rail would’ve provided a safer and faster commute from the Central Valley…an area known for conservative values, to the Bay Area where the jobs are. Why wouldn’t you want conditions to improve for other humans?

Don’t lose your humanity in your quest for political dominance 🙄

Uhhh...

It would be closer to the truth that I recognized that the project was doomed and underfunded. They could not get the property to run the rail where it ended to go to do all of those wonderful things that you claim it would have. It was a project dreamed up of of whites, dreams, unicorns rainbows and skittles and I didn't like the waste money anymore than I approved of the bridge in Alaska, a REPUBLICAN boondoggle, for the most part.

So get off of your partisan high horse and step into the real world.

PS - I'm a Libertarian. I don't seek to dominate ANYONE.
Our slogan is, all we have to offer is less and more of it.
Our policies would not have dumped over $5 trillion is stimulus into the economy because most of us are of the Austrian School of Economics and understand that it was going to produce inflation. If California needed that rail so badly, we feel they simply should have raised taxes and fees and funded it.
