Amazon gave Obama 100K for a speech to employees.

That's its for me.

You'll get over it.

Sooner or later you're going to have to buy a birthday gift and choose between putting on pants and going out shopping or buying it on Amazon.

and we both know what that choice will be.

^^voice of experience.

Employees of Amazon, which scored a coup by securing a rare one-on-one interview with the president for its journalism outlet Tuesday, donated more than $116,000 to Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, according to data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.

That’s more than four times as much as the roughly $25,000 that the Internet giant’s workers gave to Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

Obama and Amazon also have a business relationship.

Not only does Amazon peddle Obama’s books, but its Amazon Web Services helped build the high-tech data storage and retrieval system for the Obama campaign’s get-out-the-vote operation.

Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post.

If you have any teeth left, gnash them.

Perfectly within your right to boycott a company who donates to someone you don't like, but given that most huge companies donate to both major candidates, you're going to have a difficult time doing business with or using products of any major company.

Wait! Amazon donated to Romney?! Damn,, that's it for me. No more Amazon!

I'll do all my business with Apple since the Obama Justice Department is going after control of their iTunes business. Have to hate on Obama after all.

I get that. But Bezos' profit margin is miniscule, and it doesnt take much to pinch his titty. I mean, he bought THE POST cuz a stupid librul girl got into bed with Obama and destroyed her company.

The Post has been liberal since the Post was founded; it didn't just happen in the last ten years. Every print newspaper is dying the death by cancer of internet, phone and 24 hours news television.

The Post wants $0.75 a day and $2.50 for Sundays in my area. I can get the same news free on my phone with a simple app. What do you think they're going to do to beat that? Post conservative stories? The Washington Times is dying right beside the Post and we'll lament neither death in this area.

He bought it with money he found between his sofa cushions. If he paid cash, it would be about 1.5% of his personal fortune. And he's kinda smart, so it will be interesting to see what a smart guy does with a newspaper.

They're still gonna need the reporters, somebody gotta find the news, but just think of all the ink and recycled paper they'll save, and of course, there's always toilet paper to be made, just don't press it.

Yuh might wanna read David Halberstams book on the subject.

I worked at an Amazon book picking place for like 20 minutes. It was filthy and the worse fire hazard I ever saw. Place was a shithole.

Back in 1955 Studebaker bought Packard, put Packards name on Studebakers, and both went outta bizness. That's Bezos.

I read an article recently about the Amazon book fullfillment center in Georgia. Seems it redefined the concept of "hazardous workplace", i.e. 110 degree heat, no air conditioning and an impossible work load.

He'd be damned good if he wrote about Amazon buying the Post, his having been dead for the last 6 years notwithstanding.

Just to clarify, Bezos, not the corporation, bought it.

You described it exactly. It was a very old brick factory that should have been condemned with no ventilation. When I saw a rat run across the floor I grabbed my purse and made a fast exit. Told them to keep my 20 minute paycheck.
