Bush and Kerry on the Actual Issues

Hey busybody & all you other "conservatives"....who will do a better job managing the federal deficit as well as the federal budget in the next 4 years and why?

Bush needs five more years to make the benefits of the tax cuts to the wealthy the corporations trickle down to the middle and the bottom. How many people will lose jobs and not be able to recover five years from now?

I would eliminate the budget deficit in ONE year.

1) Eliminate ALL monies going to COLORED programs. They dont appreciate it, work for it, earn it, do anything to get off it.

2) Eliminate ALL money to foreign countries, ALL!

3) Eliminate ALL immigrants that cannot have a job. Eliminate immigrants that are sickly and over 40, so we wont have to pay for em.

Deficit is gone POOF!

Kerry's idea seems to first put on band-aid on the hemmoraging economy by repealing Bush's tax cuts, and then, from what I can seen continue Clinton's "It's the Economy Stupid" policies which got rid of the deficit last time. If there's more to Kerry's plan I haven't really seen it, or looked into it well enough.

I put quotes around the word conservatives as a challenge. There are precious few conservatives on this board. Quite a few Bush apologists and totaliterian fascists, but those folks never gave a damn about the economy in the first place, other than as a fiscal base to support their empire building delusions.

There was an interesting article today on how the administration is goosing the books to show a wonderfully robust chimera of an economy in Q2 and Q3 this year, leeching from Q1 next year. Regardless of WHO is president, it looks like Q1 and possibly Q2 next year (2005) are gonna be rough. I'll look for a link.

I just read George Bush's ecomony page (http://www.georgebush.com/Economy/). Denial-city man. Apparently I have a lot more money in my pocket and there's evidence that his jobs creation policies are working. They left out that the jobs created are in New Delhi, but okay.

And I just checked my pocket.

Can anyone spot me for lunch?

Hell no, I'm still paying off Visa from the last time you stuck me with the check!

Letter to John Kerry

August 25, 2004

Senator John Kerry
304 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Kerry,

We are pleased to welcome your campaign representatives to Texas today. We honor all our veterans, all whom have worn the uniform and served our country. We also honor the military and National Guard troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan today. We are very proud of all of them and believe they deserve our full support.

That’s why so many veterans are troubled by your vote AGAINST funding for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, after you voted FOR sending them into battle. And that’s why we are so concerned about the comments you made AFTER you came home from Vietnam. You accused your fellow veterans of terrible atrocities – and, to this day, you have never apologized. Even last night, you claimed to be proud of your post-war condemnation of our actions.

We’re proud of our service in Vietnam. We served honorably in Vietnam and we were deeply hurt and offended by your comments when you came home.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t build your convention and much of your campaign around your service in Vietnam, and then try to say that only those veterans who agree with you have a right to speak up. There is no double standard for our right to free speech. We all earned it.

You said in 1992 “we do not need to divide America over who served and how.” Yet you and your surrogates continue to criticize President Bush for his service as a fighter pilot in the National Guard.

We are veterans too – and proud to support President Bush. He’s been a strong leader, with a record of outstanding support for our veterans and for our troops in combat. He’s made sure that our troops in combat have the equipment and support they need to accomplish their mission.

He has increased the VA health care budget more than 40% since 2001 – in fact, during his four years in office, President Bush has increased veterans funding twice as much as the previous administration did in eight years ($22 billion over 4 years compared to $10 billion over 8.) And he’s praised the service of all who served our country, including your service in Vietnam.

We urge you to condemn the double standard that you and your campaign have enforced regarding a veteran’s right to openly express their feelings about your activities on return from Vietnam.

Sincerely,

Texas State Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson
Rep. Duke Cunningham
Rep. Duncan Hunter
Rep. Sam Johnson
Lt. General David Palmer
Robert O'Malley, Medal of Honor Recipient
James Fleming, Medal of Honor Recipient
Lieutenant Colonel Richard Castle (Ret.)

Please rest assured, that I couldnt give a rats ass!

I actually like this part of Bush's Six Point Plan:

Reducing the Lawsuit Burden on Our Economy. President Bush has proposed, and the House has already approved, measures that would allow more class action and mass tort lawsuits to be moved into Federal court - so that trial lawyers have a tougher time shopping for a favorable court. The President's reforms would also ensure that, in a class action lawsuit, most of the benefits of a settlement will actually go to the people who were injured. These reforms will help businesses focus on creating jobs, rather than fighting damaging junk lawsuits.

This, to me, is the best part of the whole Swiftboat thing. In all the talk about what Kerry said to the Senate about the war crimes in Vietnam all we here is how he "hurt" or "offended" the troops who heard him. Nobody, mind you, says that anything he said was in any way false. The reason nobody says that is because, as with Kerry's version of his war service, all the documentation backs him up.

Nothing to me is more fucked up and pathetic than war criminals who are hurt and offended when they're called war criminals.

I think it's disingenious to think that either party is going to push a detailed economic plan. They learned their lessons from 2000. Gore had a detailed wonkish plan on where he wanted to lead the U.S. economy, and Bush had his minions nitpick and parse the damn thing to death. Then the dauphin danced around on the debate stage, mincing "Fuzzy Math! Fuzzy Math!"

So no meat for you, this time around.

I think, simply put, the two parties will do the following:

Bush: make tax cuts permanent, starve the federal government of revenue as much as he can.

Kerry: repeal the upper class tax and pay down the deficit (oh, he'll try and goose democratic programs, but a Republican congress will stalemate him, like they did with Clinton).

Actually even Kerry said it wasnt true in an interview with Russert this year.

And yes, it want true. All you have to do is a little research and you will find the Winter Soldiers were not nony NOT in Vietnam, most of em turned out not even to be VETS.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

There is NO DOCUMENTATION whatsoever that supports him, none at all.

You watch, Kerry will apoligize yet!

They will take credit for boeing hire a lot of people. But boeing they hire and fire then hire again all the time.

When my uncle worked for them they fired him three times so he went to work for the post office.

WEEVIL

For you to state that Kerrys testimoney was factual not only IGNORES all evidence that was available EVEN THEN

But also Kerrys comments in the Russert interview

You really just outa look at the porn, because your command of facts are ZERO!

Where the fuck did you get the notion it was true?

I agree, though I wouldn't count on that powerful a Republican Congress.

Tax cuts have always INCREASED revenues,

It did under Kennedy, Reagan and now Bush.

tax increase ALWAYS cut revenues, always has always will

That will happen to a lot of people in five years (and that's assuming Bush really will fix the deficit in five years -- I wouldn't count on that). People who have already had to go back to school to learn a second trade after the last round of outsourcing cost them their decent jobs will not be able to bounce back a second or third time. In five years (under Bush) we'll be a nation of McDonald's employees.

Let's frame this the "Bush McNugget Plan".
