Evening. Well, it is here anyway.
Are you all night owls on this thread, or is it daytime where you are?
It's nearly bedtime round here. Though my natural inclination is towards being a night owl. Sadly, society just doesn't make many allowances for night owls.

I used to be a night owl, but my newest blood pressure med has completely borked my circadian rhythm, and now I'm passed out by midnight most nights. 😳

It sure doesn't, and it sucks!

My cat is curled up in his spot by the window going, "Common sun, do your thing, warm me up already!"

How're you holding up?

I'm making it. :)

They canceled the winter storm watch for my county this morning. There's a possibility of a flash freeze Sunday night/Monday morning, but other than that, the temps are gonna stay above freezing, so all we'll get is rain, thankfully. Everything shifted to the north of us.

How are things there?

Our winter storm warning is still ongoing until tomorrow night. But we got maybe an inch or two of ice and snow last night, and nothing so far today. Not expected to get above freezing before Monday, and then just barely. Tuesday is when we'll really start thawing out. I think we'll be okay though!

Hang in there!

So I have headaches at the base of my skull and neck pain. I used to think they were caused by high blood pressure, but I've been having them a lot lately, and when I check my bp, it's not really high. Was 129/78 tonight, and my head and neck are killing me.

I have to go back to the doctor for med refills in February, so I'll mention it. But in the meantime, Google keeps mentioning occipital neuralgia when I search my symptoms. Anybody else have any experience with this?

I've heard that low folate levels can cause headaches. I used to get them all the time before I started taking folate and iron supplements.

Interesting. Ty for that info. I do take iron and B12, but there's no folate in my B12 supplement. I'll definitely look into that.

Folate is water soluble, so if you get thirstier than normal after taking it, it means you're taking too much. Unfortunately, even though my doctor told me to take the supplements, only one I could find was one that was 333% of my daily needs, and it always makes me thirsty. :/

Thank you, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I googled folate deficiency and learned metformin--which I'm on for diabetes--can cause it. Gonna get a supplement when I go back to the store. Ty again! 💜💙💚🩷

You're welcome! Hope it helps.

Huh, that's the diabetes medicine I'm on too.

After much digging and raking, and pushing, and dirt moving, and more pushing, the van is free!

Now I need a nap, but I'm home alone with the kids so nap must wait.

Woot, van freedom!!!

I hope you get your much-needed nap soon. I went to Walmart with my mom earlier, and I'm thinking of taking one now myself.

My mother bought me a massage gun that I asked for for Christmas, the percussion massager-type thing. She forgot to wrap it and give it to me and found it when she was cleaning out her closet a few days ago. She brought it to me today. I've been using it on my poor neck and the base of my skull. It's kinda like taking an egg beater to your brains, but it does help the pain. Ditto for the back pain and forearm pain I have, too. :)

So I've come to the conclusion that what I'm experiencing is not regular burnout, but autistic burnout.

Everything just feels like a chore. Even things I enjoy.

Several years ago, my mother--who had been up until that point a lifelong sun bather/tanning bed person--had a skin cancer on her leg, just above her ankle. It got so bad it had to be surgically removed. They had to do a skin graft on it, but the graft didn't take, and the surgeon didn't want to admit that it hadn't taken, so she was left with this with big, gaping wound on her leg that wouldn't heal, no matter what. (It finally did heal, but she had to start going to the hospital Wound Care Center to get it to improve. She has an ugly scar on that leg now.)

I feel like that raw, open wound. It's not getting better. It's not going anywhere. Everything is just piling up, and I don't have the wherewithal to deal with any of it. I don't know what to do, and I don't really even have the money to make an extra therapy appointment to see if my therapist can help.

I know I keep saying this, but I don't know what to do, guys.

Only thing you can do, is to keep going. Things will get better, or you'll adapt and life won't feel so bleak.

Although, sometimes cutting things out that are contributing to the burnout helps you to keep going.

Times like these though, I tend to have that song from Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Put One Foot in Front of the Other, running through my head. It helps me.

Honestly, I've been doing a job that's at odds with my personality for 17 years. It's a thousand wonders it took this long for me to crash.

I've been applying for jobs. The only one that's gotten back to me was an MLM scam. I'ma keep going, but I owe nearly $2000 to the rental company. I expect to get eviction papers any day now. Then, I'll end up back with my parents, and I'll likely never get better.

Hopefully, someone will get in touch about another job soon.
