That's all old hat. What I'm talking about goes deeper. Again, hard to explain. I'll try to condense my notes down to a sizable post so I can explain it. Not so much about season themes, though.

hehe I had a friend convinced that the character of Buffy represents Christ... Angel named as such because he is in fact a "fallen angel". I had this whole biblical analogy going. I wish I remembered more of my "theory" I had it all mapped out, and it was pretty funny.

Liam O'Donnel.

After he was turned, he massacred his family. Upon returning, his younger sister Kathy believed him to be an 'Angel' back from heaven. Thinking it funny, he used the moniker 'Angelus' from ti e to time, until it became his commonplace name, people using it all the time. Angelus, the one with the angelic face.

After he had his soul returned to him, and he'd been living on the streets for a bit, he re-christened himself Angel, in memory of the incident with his sister. Yet another way he derived to make himself pay for the horrors he had commited.

Great episode of Angel last night is all that I will say on it except...Good thing Conner is gone but damnit they should have killed him off instead of leaving him alive to be used later.


The ME algorithm... I don't know if it's just because Rasta mentioned it but I'll be damned if I'm not realizing I've been getting that same feeling since I started watching Angel along with Buffy...

anyway i hope he comes back in the next series but i don't see how now ... i hadn't heard he was being written out of angel so i was very surprised at this

I'm probably the only person on this thread who watched that episode of Angel without realizing it was the season finale. I could've sworn there was another. It didn't feel particularly finalesque to me...good action and plot, but I like more closure.

Then again, my opinion of Angel this season hasn't been too high anyway. I prefer episodes that are complete in themselves, with the beginning, middle, and end all clearly established; each one ran into the other, sometimes with very little climax, and it got perturbing after awhile.

But this was one of the best episodes I've seen all season, I think.

ages ago, on Buffy, there was an episode where Giles & Anya went to see a demon/weird dimension looking for info on the first... and it told them that the concurrent Slayers, two at once, caused some weirdness that made it possible for the first evil to start the ball rolling on this apocalypse...

So, what would they have done with that info? I guess they couldn't really try to make Buffy feel like she was the cause of this, or guilt trip Willow, who already is a mess.. but it seems weird that they'd have that whole scene, and plot point, and do nothing with it..... couldn't Mr. Giles the "hard decisions have to be made" have like, put a hit on Faith or something? I'm not advocating this, just wondering... cause he killed Ben/Glory, tried to get Spike killed, that kind of thing...

Would killing one Slayer have stopped the First, or is it too late?
I wanted more PLOT this year, dangit!

I mean maybe there is a way to do it besides the gypsie curse but even if there is not just use the gypsie curse anyway for now.

After the whole battle thing is done if buffy survives she can go to where spike went and quest for her soul.

If spike did it I am sure buffy can.


I think this would have brough buffy and spike a lot closer to each other and buffy wouldn't have that annoying getting old problem.

Yeah Spike might not want to do it but it is an interesting plot twist idea.

I just didn't think the love scene between tara and kennedy was very good. Seemed very scripited, artificial, fake and such. Kudos to ME for doing the first lesbian love scene on network TV but they could have done a better job with it.

Just posting to say that I should have watched Angel from the beginning because I have the downloaded and watched the 1st 10 episodes and they are damn good. Gonna keep downloading until I have all of the older ones and keep watching them to see if i can somehow grasp what the ME Algorithm is...

He wanted to give her "what she deserved". So, what guarantee, *IF* Buffy had been turned, won and then went there to get her soul, that she would have ACTUALLY gotten it?

possibly....i've not read the full url you posted, but did notice at least one diffs in it and what I remember of the show. When Tara was shot, she was facing Willow. Her blood splattered onto Willow's shirt. She sees it and goes, "theres something on your shirt" THEN falls down......that was left out of the url pg. so perhaps other things were somewhat minorly changed......??
