Buffy: Countdown to the Apocalypse

Of course. Hasn't everyone. *sigh*

Sleep always seems to help, of course after one of those days, sleep is the last thing I can usually do.

I would say I've slept about 5/8ths of my life away.

Less problematic, at times.

The first episode I ever watched was the one where Buffy dies telling Dawn that the hardest thing in life was to live. Don't remember what season that was...

End of Season 5, just before the jump to UPN from the WB. Just don't ask me a damn thing about this season (damn UPN)...

:) Now I understand the flashbacks on some of the season 4 episodes, I couldn't understand why Buffy was so mad at Angel.

You still don't know fully understand it. If you haven't seen S2 and S3, you really can't fathom the relationship between Buffy and Angel. Do yourself a favor and go to blockbuster and get a few eps from S1, S2, and S3. Revisit Buffy and Angel. It is the single most power romance ever to have been put on TV. Arguably the most powerful ever acted.

Get from:

Season 1: ***Angel***, Prophesy Girl
Season 2: When She was Bad, Some Assembly Required, Reptile Boy, What's My Line 1 and 2, ***Surprise, Innocence, Passion, Becoming 1 & 2***
Season 3: Anne, Faith, Hope and Trick, Beauty and the Beasts, ***Lover's Walk, Amends***, Enemies, The Prom, ***Graduation 1 & 2***

From Angel the Series, Season 1: ***I will Remember You***

The ones in *** are the best TV you'll ever see. There is none better. Just as good, but none better. Joss & Company will rip your heart and stomp it to hell and you'll love every minute of it. If you think Buffy is good in this season, you'll be completely blown away by these. Ooo and the speech at the end of Choices, that's a keeper.

If you want background on what's going on now and what will happen at the end of this season, make sure you catch:

Buffy S3: Amends, The Wish, Dopplegangland, Graduation 1 and 2.
S4: This Year's Girl, Who are You
Angel: Five by Five, Sanctuary
S4: The Yoko Factor

And if you just want fun, pee in your pants funny episodes then S3 Band Candy, Dopplegangland and Angel S1, In the Dark.

Anyway, I was lucky to watch the reruns on FX, but sometimes it's still alot to take in all at once... so these bits and pieces help out alot.

That's why I included the list above that I did and the order I did. Rent the DVD, grab some friends and the popcorn and make a day of it. You'll be rivited. It's like a day of good greek tragedy, filled with catharsis. If you just have a limited amount of time, hands down the choice is Surprise, Innocence, Passion, Becoming 1 and 2, in that order.

Yay! A thread just for the Buffy Geeks!

I am SO fully a geek! I started with season 1 over the summer last year, bumped to s2, and flew through every synopsis there was, and every re-run I could find anywhere.

I am in full on geek mode. I write fan fiction and have my own site.

Unfortunatly, I can't watch season 7 first hand. I have a friend who tapes em, and sends em to me when each tape is full, though, so I have seen bout half, as well as about half of Angel this season.

I am SO counting the days till Feb when Angel comes on DVD.

What can I say, other then, I am Gilly, Buffy Geek as well.

Imi, you are not alone. ;)

Not in my area it is not.

I don't have a VCR anymore it was my old roommates and she took it with her when she left.

Aaaaah....that sucks.

Imi those are great choices of eps to watch. I just finished season 3 on DVD and I had forgotten how wonderful Angel and Buffy were together. I cried more in those two seasons than any others. I loved Choices, especially the ending speech.

Yeah I'm a total buffy geek too, got my husband into it and he's as bad as I am now. He absolutely loves Xander which kinda sucks cause I'm not the biggest Xander fan (though he gets some of the best lines). Just a kinda funny FYI, I just bought season 3 of Buffy last week when it came out (I had already bought seasons 1 & 2) and inside among all the paper ads for Buffy stuff they had coupons for like $5 off seasons 1 & 2. It made me laugh cause if you were spending $45.00 to buy the eps on DVD I doubt you'd start with buying season 3 as opposed to 1. Anyways in case any of you guys were planning to buy them I thought I'd let you know so you could buy season 3 first and get the coupons.

Woo hoo, it's Buffy tuesday, I'm so excited.:D

Good news and bad news....

First the good:

Hi Gilly...nice to see you posting again! :nana:

Bad:

Stupid station here decided that the stupid Magic game is more important than Buffy. As if anything is more important than Buffy.

Fucktards!

Again...didn't you say they did that like two days ago? That really sucks!

No. I didnt say that two days ago. Maybe someone else is lucky(and I use that word loosely) enough to have the same tv station I do.

Oh, Xander just stole my heart tonight.

*waves to new people* HI!

Yeah Xander can have his moments. Did anyone else think this episode was a little dissapointing....maybe it's just cause the last few have been so action packed.

Oops, I was thinking about Sleeping Warrior and I meant 2 weeks ago, not two days. I guess we just don't have any sports teams down here that are good enough to replace normal shows?!

it was a bit slow, but I must admit that since my area doesn't have a UPN affiliate, I haven't seen many eps this season, so I can't compare it.

Yeah I noticed the slowness. I guess part of it could be that there wasn't any real main bad guy chasing them or anything. It will probably make the next episode seem really good though.

Good episode for the touchy feely moments but there wasn't enough action for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, I loved watching it I just think they could have shown the 4 potentials fighting the Vamp in the crypt.

Thoughts...

Weren't they missing 1 potential slayer in tonights episode? I distinctly remember that one of the potentials was played by the girl who is also on Lizzie McGuire (whatever) but I don't remember seeing her tonight and don't remember her being killed off in the last show.

Dawn is something other than just a normal human member of the Scoobies, I don't care what was said in tonights show and I won't believe otherwise until the final show is shown.(More than just the former Key, more to her than just human excluding the Key thing)

Gotta love Xander, just hope that by the end of Buffy's running that Xander realizes how important he is to the group. He doesn't need 'super powers' to be powerful because he just is. He holds the whole group together just by loving and supporting them in whatever capacity that he can.

Whats with Andrew? I mean he is a good character but what exactly is the point of keeping him around? Is he just there for the others to take potshots at when they want to or is he going to contribute in some way?

Also... There is just something that is screaming out to me to notice, some big part of the plot that has been revealed but not explained that I can't seem to put my finger on right now. Anyone else have that feeling?

I love the ending to this episdoe. Xander kicks SOOOOOOOO much ass.

And I like how that new SIT kicked that vampire's ass...but why couldn't she before?? Don't really expect me to belive that dawn triggered it.

Well she did trap the thing the first time... Remember what Buffy said about following your instincts to the others? Also, maybe she just needed to be clued in to what she was before she realized she could fight it.
