Budding Author needs help

Im an 18 year old college student, and ive been wanting to write a fantasy novel for quite some time, i have been posting in some of the more writiting based rooms on the chat program, and i want to write a story. most likely non-erotic, and i think that i will be able to do well...with a little help. i am looking for a strong writer that can maybe proofread my works and will be able to help me develop a story. i am looking towards a spartan theme, and im bouncing between a story set in ancient greece, or a real quirky fantasy about the spartan king leonidas reincarnated into a remote place like south africa and being involved in the tribe wars. I cant really figure out which one i would like to do, all i know is that i want to write, if you can help me out, please write me a messege or post on this forum.

When you figure out what your story is about, write it. Then go to the Editor's Forum and look for an editor. I don't think anyone here wants to write this for you. It's your idea. You're stuck with it.

As an editor, I agree with J_J. Even if someone did want to write it for you, there would be two inherent pitfalls: you wouldn't learn how to do it yourself, and your story would inevitably become someone else's story.

Concentrate on the story line and characters first and get it written, no matter how roughly. Then go back and rewrite anything you're not satisfied with. A lot of the rough spots will get polished in the process. If you still see problem areas, or if you're unsure of the mechanics, get a volunteer editor or beta reader to help with the polish.

I guess my predicating point is that it's impossible to "edit" a rough concept without totally hijacking the story.
